He’s the quickest to 300 appearances in our history, was a colossus in the 55 season and cost us £3.5m, a pittance in today’s market. He’s been in poor form and may indeed be off but he’s absolutely deserving of this, particular if this is his last 5 games coming up. We held a ticker tape reception last year for (some) players that did far less for the club.

This, well said. Ok he has been off form in the last 6 games but there is no doubting he has been brilliant for us and has played almost every game without ever being injured.

Fans are meant to support the club and our players. On twitter / x right now there are hundreds of our own fans slagging of a player who arrived for a small fee £3m. Has hardly miss many games over the whole time he has been here, been a rock at times, won 55, helped us get to a European final and every year has helped get us into the later stages in Europe most seasons. Yes he hasnt been at his best this season but sometimes your form dips. He has been a great servant to the club and if John Greig thinks he deserves the award then we should be happy for him.

Far to many fans turn on the players after 1 bad game now. We have the best defensive record this season with Balogun, Ridvan and Borna all missing spells with Injuries. This could actually be an incredible season where we win a Treble yet we turn on our players.
