M74 Roadworks

A heads up for bears heading into the game and using the M74 past Hamilton.

Because of roadworks it's at a standstill and it might be a better idea to find an alternative route and avoid it if possible.

It's been awful all week.

My pal told me it was both but northbound will affect anyone coming from down South, Larkhall, etc.

Don't try and divert through the back road from Larkhall to Hamilton, it's packed too.

I didn’t realise it was that bad man, I guess being roasting for a few hours isn’t that bad after all!

We drove up from London 2 years ago after flying back from Orlando… due to Friday traffic, accidents and roadworks it took over 15 hours… after the 9 hour flight where we didn’t sleep… was not fun

People breaking down in the inside lane and getting squashed by a truck.
It's not a very "smart" system really.

I travel down South a bit too and when they were building it the delays were awful through the average speed cameras.

I’m sure I seen it mentioned earlier in the week about M8 roadworks also, give yourself plenty of time.

Got stuck in it yesterday, 2 and a half hours it took me from Gretna to Glasgow City centre.

A72 from larkhall exit to Hamilton is starting to back up but moving more freely but still get stuck joining again at Hamilton. It might save some time

Came off at Lesmahagow and went back on at Larkhall which according to Google saved me around 20 minutes had I stayed on the 74.

Took me 10 hours yesterday driving south, leaving Linlithgow at 8am. Fine as far as the Liverpool area of M6 but thereafter it was bloody awful. Mainly roadworks but a wide trailer and a couple of broken down vehicles didn't help.
