Derek McInnes remains the preferred candidate of the board.

Alex Neil has applied and is considered the backup, has some support from the board as well.

Mark Allen's choice for the job is Steve McLaren.

Over 150 applications including Moyes and Pardew.

If admin need a source I can confirm.

Preud’homme out of the running completely then?

Steve McLarens coaching credentials are exceptional and players always praise him highly for it.

He's doing a role in Israel at the moment as a coaching consultant or something I think?
If he was prepared to take on only a coaching role at Ibrox(not manager) and the DoF and new manager is on board I think that could only be good for the club.

Makes sense (to him) that Mark Allen is backing Shteve McLaren- probably only one he’s heard of, and former England manager with league title abroad probably looks like quite a catch in principle.

Alex Ferguson talks him up in his autobiography as well.

It’s just that he is a bit of a joke figure really?

Would prefer McInnes to either Neil or McLaren.

McLaren was keen on the Hearts job ffs, we haven’t sunk that low surely?
