Can the BT Stadium be accessed by walking from the Airlink 100 Murrayfield bus stop on Corstorphine Road?

We are contemplating parking away from the stadium and bussing it to/from the game once in Edinburgh and the Airlink 100 would be ideal.

This is my plan but was intending to walk down corstorphine rd. Club usually give out travel advice. Would imagine they'll do so for this given the numbers attending

Only problem being is that after the game the buses are re-directed away from the stadium to allow crowds to disperse. A better option might be the tram as the stop is right next to the ground.

The buses are directed away from Corstorphine Road after the game?

Aye they probably will. I'll keep an eye out.

Just be aware the 100 only stops at a few bus stops...best bet is just past Mayberry Casino on Glasgow Road or Corstorphine just past the roundabout at PC World...btw..I've never heard of it getting directed away after matches.

Yes bud, it is the Maybury stop I intended getting on at. Hopefully you are right about not getting re-directed.

The parking options aren't as good if you use the tram but if you do you could either park at the park n ride near the airport or park near the Maybury Casino and walk back to the new tram stop at Gogar roundabout

What’s the best options to park near Murrayfield ? Will be taking the car up on Saturday. Any ideas are welcome. Cheers

Regarding rerouted this is from 2013 https://lothianbuses.co.uk/assets/files/Rugby-090213.pdf But relates to a 67,000 crowd at Murrayfiled not 35,000..if it does happen you can get on at Western Corner..a 10 minute walk from Murrayfiled

Not 100% sure know it's normally done for the rugby internationals but possibly the buses will be kept on route. If your heading back towards corstorphine you'll get a bus on murrayfield road as the diversion is usually to avoid going through roseburn towards the town

Possibly try parking on balgreen road or the streets off it the stadiums a five minute walk and it'll be easier to head back west

As Beachbear says, if you’re parking around the Maybury area, get any of the buses he’s listed and you’ll get dropped off right outside the Rangers end at the Murrayfield Hotel.

I'd just park at Ingliston where there is plenty space and take the tram direct to Murrayfield. Easier than faffing about in Corstorphine and only £1.50 each way (ridiculous that it's a fiver from the next stop at the airport a 1/4 mile away). Tram not the quickest through the Gyle so allow half hour travel time

Just to be clear you can only get the 31 or 100 at Maybury...you need to go into Corstorphine to get 12 or 26

I was planning on getting the train to haymarket, pub for a couple of pints then walk up to the stadium? Any pub recommendations near haymarket station?

The Haymarket, Jolly Botanist (up Morrison Street) or Platform 5 (across the road from the station). Ryries is a shithole.
Also The Mercat across from The Haymarket. Couple further along Morrison Street as well (used to be anyway). Thomsons and some other place. Dianes Pool Hall too.

I work in haymarket area and there are major roadworks going on in that area with one lane fully closed and diversions in place.
Probably affecting eastbound traffic more but I would recommend those driving to park at the park and ride at ingliston and the get the tram . They’re every ten minutes and there’s a Murrayfield tram stop.

Tram stop is at the Hearts end though. Rangers fans probably won’t allowed round there after the game especially when we win.

Tram might be better idea, won't get held up as much as buses and stop right at West Stand gates. Plenty parking at new hub just past Maybury.

If you're getting the tram, you'd actually be better getting off at the stop before Murrayfield (Balgreen). The turnstiles by the Murrayfield stop will be for Hearts fans only and it's a bit of a detour to get to our turnstiles on the north side.

Haymarket bar has gone upmarket and not like the old days though still a few pubs round that area. Notice the hospitality tents going up at the Murrayfield hotel so the bar will be open though don’t know if there will be general access to the public.

Traffic is not really affected heading towards Murrayfield. Big diversions though heading the other way into town.

If I drive to Murrayfield I usually park down by Saughton Prison and walk over, only takes 10 minutes and afterwards the traffic is lighter than a match day at Ibrox.

Apparently you can park and ride at Ingelston and get tram to stadium too...might try that and get off at stop before Murrayfield then, yes?
