This is the bit I am unsure about. No qualifiers is good for the players and their clubs. If they do play, they can surely manipulate what happens and the betting, win no consequence.

No, they still play in the. Qualifiers, if they don’t qualify, they are already through by virtue of winning the Nations League, if they qualify by virtue of the qualifying group, then it gets complicated for other teams involved.
Absolutely ludicrous. That distorts the groups and who wins what.

That’s my understanding of it. When Scotland fail to get out the groups, they get another shot at it in this tournament.

It absolutely battered my head this for a while and I’m sure for winning it, as daft as it sounds, don’t mean you qualify automatically for the Euros. Sure these finals are simply so there is a winner basically and someone can be given the title of Nations League Champion.
My mistake if I’m wrong, would make it all a bit of a joke wouldn’t it having one team already playing in a qualifying group with plenty of matches left.

Aye because both are hosts and have been paired for a group they will be in the same group if they qualify. You play a minimum of two matches at home in the groups.
