Neil McCann on Sportscene

What a day ......

He's great to listen to. I was thinking the exact same as you while watching. He is a far better pundit. Stewart's commentary was also awful and he kept making these annoying noises whenever there was a goal or good effort.

Our gaffer gave him a cracking endorsement on Kamara

And Gerrard said of the Finnish midfielder: “He’s a natural footballer who plays with his head up and connects the defensive side of the game with the attacking.
“He’s been well coached at Arsenal, but I also have to mention Neil McCann, who has done an excellent job in taking him from academy football to the next level"

Didn't hang around to justify it as well.
McCann isn’t a good manager. He fell out with almost every player he had at Dundee, and managed them for a huge % of the season where they were relegated.

He’s a really good pundit though, so hopefully he sticks at doing that. Like McCoist.

On what basis? He was dreadful at Dundee.

You certainly won't find any Hearts fans thinking he would be a good fit.

Far better sticking to punditry or maybe coaching
I agree.
A bit like Gary Neville. A good player, talks very well and understands the game. But for whatever reason can’t really cut it as a manager.

Heard him slaughter Chocolate Hips yesterday ,saying he can't pick or chose to turn up for Scotland anytime he wants, Dick Gordon more or less saying he can and will walk in to the team at right back, if Roberson is playing?.. Neil wasn't having it
Neil was also gushing about how much improved Ryan Jack has improved to be a top class player saying Ryan has got determination and grit and that is just what Scotland needs...Silence from the rest on the panel

“This has been an ehhhh............... (insert long pause)........... interesting attack from Scotland here”

insightful, knowledgable, experienced.

Everything that ginger dick is not. Get him off the tele.

Tierney isnae exactly picking and choosing. He's been injured for a long time. Came back a few weeks ago then dropped out again.

Tierney has been fit for a couple of months now, he has been involved in almost every Arsenal game since he made his debut.

Arsenal are pressuring the SFA and basically telling them he has to concentrate on his Arsenal career for now.

Would much prefer seeing Neil as a regular rather than that wee smirking , know-it -all, sweetie wife Michael Stewart.
That’s just not going to happen, as Neil has the ability to be involved in the game whereas Stewart and Thompson are dummies who would never be considered for any kind of roll in the game!

To be honest if it’s Arsenal that are saying that then they are a disgrace, there is no way they’d be trying that with England!

Perhaps Stewart was confused since Ryan Jack had been played out of position in midfield instead of his regular role at right back for Rangers.

At Dundee the only player who met the standard he was looking for was Kamara. The rest didn't have the ability to relate to what he was looking for. Like many other top class ex-players who went into management he may have found it hard to relate to those with less ability.

They cant call him out for bias. McCann has got them by the balls.

hard to judge a manager when they are at a basket case of a club, Its easy to manage a club if your budget is 4* everyone elses and you are given at least 2 transfer windows (i.e a summer and winter). Also a manager really needs a close season to work on his managerial tactics.

He signed most of those players who werent up to that standard though.

A managers job is to set the team up & play a style of football which suits the squad at his disposal. McCann's team kept possession but leaked goals & struggled miserably to score.

Anyone trying to rewrite his tenure at dundee anything other than dreadful needs to take the blue tinted specs off.

To be honest in the couple of games he's played for Arsenal he's been pretty shit.

Listen i know no one on here wants him to do well but that is simply not true. His first couple of games were in Europe and he laid a few goals on a plate. He was being touted for MOTM and the Arsenal fans couldn’t believe they got him for only £25M.

Granted the last few games he’s been shit but he did start well.
