Old song help

A very old pal of mine asked me today about this song that she sung as a youngster. It was before my time (60s onwards). All she remembers is



Willie Waddell on the ball, he`s the daddy of them all. Just to see him play fitbaw, is my happiness. Or something like that.

I tried the usual searches but hee-haw. Can anyone help me out?
