Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer

Danger Zone

Just the tip...
Really didn’t take long for the wheels to come off for him after penning his permanent contract. It’s always easier to come in and look good when everyone loathed the previous boss and had downed tools. It seems to change though when the next permanent appointment is made.

I reckon he’ll be gone by Christmas. Of course they could still turn that game around (2-0 down to Everton) but I think all the signs are already there that this will be another failed appointment for United.

his management is pretty similar to Rodgers at Leicester, team had downed tools and got the manager sacked

he comes in, gets them playing and gets praise for "improving" them when they've only just started working properly because they got rid of the manager. Heard rumours that he and Pogba have had a bit of an argument so it's tools down again it seems

can see Solskjaer and Rodgers both going before Christmas

I honestly can’t stand Pogba, he was a disgrace in those games against Barca. He’s just a big primadona overpaid fanny who turns it on whenever he feels like it.

The archetypal modern day footballer, more interested in being a celebrity and mincing about in daft clothes with shite haircuts than actually maximising his ability.

Man Utd have a squad of overpaid and pretty ordinary players.

For a club their size with their budget they should have superstars on form week in week out.

Pogba may have the ability but it’s no use given he clearly doesn’t want to be there. Sell him.

Lukaku, likewise. Not good enough for a club of Man Utd’s stature. Nowhere near worth what they paid for him.

They should do all they can to sign Gareth Bale. He’s an excellent player who has been treated appallingly by Real Madrid and IMO would have a point to prove at Man Utd and would relish the fresh start.

The only bigger clubs in the world than Man Utd are Real Madrid and Barcelona. He’s leaving one of those clubs and obviously isn’t signing for the other. Man Utd should be at the front of the queue.

He’s out his depth. Could see that in Barcelona.

He’ll get the transfer window, but really needs to hit the ground running at the start of the new season.

They’ll win nothing with Jones and Smalling at the back.

Absolutely incredible that they give him a 3 year deal, they initially appointed him till the end of the season. They should have re-evaluated then, they obviously aren’t going to win anything and I doubt they will qualify for the CL.

Okay so maybe he won’t turn this one around.

City next for them! I imagine Liverpool fans will be spewing for the first time at seeing United get cuffed. Although who’d bet against an absolute shock after this.

Look at the state of their managerial recruitment.

Well Ferguson was Scottish so let's appoint another Scot it doesn't matter that he plays dour, defensive football, hasn't won anything and isn't a big enough profile to gain the players respect.

Then when that fecks up it's let appoint LVG, he's Dutch so he must play Total Football and he's a bigger name. Doesn't matter he's not been a top manager since the late 90's and is famously stubborn and abrasive.

Then when that fecks up it's let appoint Mourinho, he's a winner, he'll get us back to where we need to be. Doesn't matter that he doesn't play attacking football, doesn't play youngsters and has the man management skills of Saddam Hussain. I'm sure Pogba won't throw his toys out the pram when he's being asked to track back and defend.

Then it's feck it we need a United man, phone up Ole, oh he's fluked a result in Paris thanks to VAR, feck it give him the job proper.

There's no continuity, no semblance of a plan, just random, weird, wrong appointments as they lurch from one feck up to the next.

Pochettino was the man for them in 2016 when they appointed Jose, he was the man again for them this time. They keep making a total cunt of it.

Easy to be a smart arse and speak after the event but i dont think it was such a bad appointment at the time... certainly had the fans behind him... maybe they should give him the summer let him buy some new players see what happens.

N.a. like McCoist he had no credentials for a top management position.

A rushed appointment although he did well for them and steadied the ship as they say.

Managerial experience has to come in to contention again.

It's always funny to see this. It happens over and over and over again, and yet clubs still do it.

How come normal fans can predict what's going to happen, yet the so called experts who are paid a lot of money seemingly can't? Nevermind, it's great entertainment for the rest of us.

So glad we didn't fall into this trap with Murty...

What was the stat i read during the Barca game midweek? Something along the lines of 4 of their back 5 from that game started a champions league game against Bilbao where they were put out 8 seasons ago. That along with their keeper being their best player since Fergie left just sums it all up.

The PSG result forced Man Utd's hand, they panicked and hired him full time.

Off the back of a defensive blunder, then a blunder from Buffon, then a penalty that never was.

Any mug could see that United had the luck of lottery winners in that tie. I bet even the most ardent Sir Alex worshippers couldn’t have envisaged it would get so grim so fast without him.

The leadership at that club is appalling, owners are not interested in anything apart from the revenue and the chief exec is a clown. No manager is going to succeed.

Bowed to fan pressure and a VAR decision that forced their hand slightly. Anyone coming in after Jose would have had upturn in results as players had downed tools

The fact they're still relying on guys like Ashley Young is bonkers. They need a bit of an overhaul in the summer.

Tbf moyes was appointed by saf.

As soon as he signed permanently the players went back to what they were doing under Mourinho. He'll be gone in the summer while the players remain untouchable

A club with no leadership whatsoever. Appointing a manager on the back of the easiest run of games in the season was absurd.

I don’t know how they turn it around. The way transfer fees have gone lately they’ll not be able to sign the required standard of player without breaking all FFP rules.
