The quality of the opposition (or rather the lack of it) was reflected by a miserly crowd of only 5,000 at Ibrox, one of the lowest of the season. Those who did attend were treated to history in the making, for the 14-2 final result represented the first time Rangers had scored 14 goals in a first-class fixture, beating the previous best of 13 established against Possilpark (1877), Uddingston (1877) and Kelvinside (1889). With 86 minutes gone it seemed as though the record was safe, for although Rangers had hit double figures they had only registered ten goals, but a final flurry in as many minutes gave them the record. The game was a personal triumph for Jimmy Fleming, who hit nine of the goals to establish and individual record that has seldom been troubled since

1990 - Rangers 3 (Johnston, Brown, Walters) St.Johnstone 0 - Scottish Cup 3rd Round (39,003)
1996 - Rangers 0 Hearts 3 - Scottish Premier Division (45,096)
This was only Rangers' second defeat of the season (Hibernian at home in September had been the first), although those present at Ibrox found it hard to believe Rangers had lost at all; they had pressed almost constantly throughout the game, only to be caught by three breakaway goals by Hearts. Rangers were to suffer only one further defeat this season, away to Hearts in April

2014 Did Steve Simonsen make a brilliant save in this game? A once in a lifetime thing, I should remember it.

2013 - Peterhead 0 Rangers 1 (Sandaza) - Scottish Football League Division 3 (4,855)

What a harrowing game that was.

2013 - a freezing cold day on the terracing at Peterhead. I'll never forget standing next to one of our supporters who was up from the Hull area for the game. I was wearing my heavy jacket, wooly hat, scarf and gloves. This guy was standing with nothing on from the waist up bar a heavy gold chain - and he was bald into the bargain! The other memorable thing was the rarity of a Sandaza goal. What possessed McCoist to waste so much money signing that guy?

2008 - Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0 Rangers 1 (Darcheville) - Scottish Premier League (7,753)
GAME WAS DRAGGING ON

2013 - Peterhead 0 Rangers 1 (Sandaza) - Scottish Football League Division 3 (4,855)
COLD, POOR AND MY MATE KNOCKED MY SPECS OFF ME WHEN WE SCORED

2014 - Forfar Athletic 0 Rangers 2 (Mohsni, Templeton) - Scottish League One (2,067)

The highlights

1934 - I've told this one before?

Passed down from my granda to my da to me.

Half of the village crammed into the Post Office at time up to find out the score?

The score came over; 14-2 and a local wag shouted out; 'Who fur'?
