Parting of the ways with Barisic would suit both parties

Borna's time is at an end, so is Ridvans although never really started. We need to use any cash we can recoup from Ridvans sale on a strong left back who has the best of both qualities. Borna is weaker at defending than Ridvan, Ridvan is completely lost crossing the halfway line and cant cross a ball which is a major problem for any wide player.

For the love of good we also need someone who is robust and not built like a match box.

Can more or less chart Borna's decline from his injury against Celtic at Ibrox in the 55 season, which meant he struggled to be fit for the Euros. He was excellent in the title season (as were most) but the odd appearance aside it's been a steady decline.

Borna is symptomatic of the longterm issues with our transfer model. He should have been moved on at a profit post 55 or Seville. Instead he’s been allowed to stay, stagnate and regress. Now he walks for nowt having drained the club of resources and the fans of patience. Same happened with Kent and Alfie.

To be perfectly pedantic, the headline actually reads ‘should suit both parties’, which changes the tone slightly.

Served us well and made a good contribution before he completely fell off the last few years.

He’s another good example of the failure to implement the long mentioned player trading model. Don’t keep them too long and sell them when their value is at its highest relative to time left on their contract.

He served us well but is past his best. Time to go and hope he gets a tremendous ovation from the fans
