People who don’t like football?

Not to be trusted, do feel they are in a similar boat to the freaks that support specific players rather than a team, don't see the point in it at all. Just glad it's not me.
Bloody queerhawks, the lot of them

When I lived with my parents I would sit with my old man and watch every game that was on the tele, but after settling down with a Mrs and kids I’ve watched a handful of games over the last decade.

It’s got to the point where I look at the Chelsea team and I could hardly name half their squad.

Still watch big tournaments and finals and the odd curiosity, like the junior cup final on BBC Alba, but I’d rather watch a film than West Ham V Everton.

I am interested in football and I bet on it a lot but outwith Rangers I couldn't even watch 10 minutes of a game.

Been obsessed with football since I was 4 and don't see it ever changing, but I wouldn't say I find it hard to talk to people who aren't into it. Plenty of other things going on in the world to have conversations about.

Kids grow up on computer games and internet. Going to a game used to be a real treat but to some of the youngsters these days it's just a burden and they feel made to go by a parent. You often see kids on phones through the full game these days.
It's a shame but believe there is still a hard core following coming through for the future.

I don’t know what’s worse - blokes with no interest in football whatsoever, or the pretend fans who attach themselves on to a club but never seem to know any of the players’ names.

I’m football mad, always have been, Wednesday home and away for 20 odd years and then for the past 5 years get to 4 or 5 Gers games a season with my Scottish family.

Travel across Europe to tick city derbies off the list, and back home have watched everything from six tier non league up to and including champions league.

Got loads of mates and family though who unless it’s their team couldn’t give a toss.

Lot of mates have stopped who would be up for it more regularly if it was easier to get tickets and cheaper, but either can’t be arsed.

Worst kind I think are those who aren’t in to sport at all, I love meeting people and socialising but it gets harder when you can’t talk about sport at all - only sport I haven’t got time for is F1, like watching paint dry

Usualy boring tossers the ones who were left to last pick at 11 a side at the school or street game ,who now watch motor bike racing or formula 1, gimps.

Was at The Fast Show in Glasgow last week and John Thomson said exactly that. Even though he played the posh Arsenal fan in the show, he hates football and all sport in fact. Surprising.

Have you worked in the fashion industry for long?
Honestly never known anything like it , last job I was in was the same . Me and one other guy , he wasn’t into football . He left and his replacement was the same . I was thinking what the fucks going on these days , years ago you were the odd man out if you didn’t like football .
Fucking weirdos

None of my wife's extended family are into football. Her dad, brother, cousins, the lot of them. Was at a party at Christmas and all they talked about was motors and shite like that. I ended up sitting with the women

They’re

They’re for the watching too in my opinion. I was delighted recently when Bomber was co-commentating and Tom asked him if he’d be watching the Scotland England game later (I forget the name of the cup they play for every year) “No, I can’t take that sport at all!”

People growing up in Glasgow who prefer rugby just aren’t normal.
They're as normal as you, me or anyone else. Football isn't the be all and end all to everyone.
The only other sport I watch is the 6 nations when Scotland play, but I can understand that aomi people have no interest in football, it doesn't me they aren't normal.

Unless it's a Rangers game, I have no emotional connection and then switch off, I'm not looking to sound staunch either, I literally never watch a game of football if Rangers aren't playing.
Got more like this as Iv gotten up there in the age stakes. Get caught up in the odd game if it’s a cracker but more by channel hopping rather than by design. Also hate being down south and being asked who my English team are! All about the rangers, never understood the duel thing.

Some of you must be some right boring buggers if you can’t find something else to talk about other than football.

Tbh I find talking to folk who don’t follow the football a relief as I don’t have to put up with various terrible football opinions that a lot of people have

It’s the disdain from the eggchasers that irks me. And growing up, it was definitely the 100% not-normal guys who weren’t into football. My senior school was a rugby playing school and I still stand by my statement.
I rarely talk football at work as I’m just about the only westerner on my job, which is okay as I don’t need to deal with any Tims.

Some proper cringey/try hard comments on here man. If fitba is the only topic of conversation you're capable of having then you're an odd ball, probably a virgin.

Some of the biggest sad acts I've ever met are obsessed with fitba.

Other than Rangers games, you're lucky if I was a dozen other games a season now. Nothing other than a passing interest in EPL these days, it's sanitised nonsense.

Most of my adukt life football would have been a distant second in comparison to boxing as well, but I've deliberately chosen to take absolutely no interest in that now.

Vootball ist only interesting if ze Männer in Schwarz (men in black) do vot Groß Peter sprachen. Sportliche Integrität ist alles!

Don't know anyone (males) socially or in my family who doesn't like football but I've known quite a few work colleagues who didn't like the game and yes, some of them were a bit strange.
I've known a few in a few different works over the years. They usually just smoke hash constantly but are sound as a pound and work like %^*&.

I have worked with a few lads who have two teams, I don't get it personally - each to their own though.

Why would you not trust people who don't drink? Ever thought that they just don't like alcohol or have alcohol related problems
Ever thought that people aren’t being 100% serious on an internet messageboard on a trivial subject matter?

Euro's, World Cup, Celtic getting f*cked in Europe? None of that?
Not now, Euro's/World Cup, used to. I think because these days you can see all the top players any day of the week. When I was a kid the World Cup was the only chance to get to see Pele, Cruyff.
Cruyff luckily at least got see him in 3 successive European Cup Finals.
As for watching them it's difficult enough when we're playing them, why would I want to watch them when I don't need to?

Slightly off topic, but how many people do you talk to about football?

I'll try and avoid all chat with non Rangers fans. If they initiate it I'll give vague short answers as I simply can't be arsed discussing it with them.

Even most Rangers fans in the work annoy me to an extent. I only really like talking about it with my dad, mates and people on here.

In my last work there was quite a few football fans. There were only a couple of us, a few Tims and a more who supported wee teams like Thistle and Ayr. The wee team guys were actually all prods who leant towards us and even the Tims were OK, because they got it off me with both barrels when they tried to wind me up.
A lot of the others were into the gym and mainly wanted to talk about themselves, a strange bunch. A couple were into F1 I watched it a couple of times just so I would have somehow to talk about. The most boring sport out. The race is over after the first corner most times.

There are many other things that people get into now, I work with guys who climb mountains, guys who paraglide in their spare time, guys who get involved in cycling events and guys who are much more into martial arts than football, having conversations with them it becomes fairly obvious that they couldn't give a toss about football, interestingly enough several have told me they wouldn't go or take their kids due to the soccer violence and foul and abusive language their young kids would be exposed to, these kids are supposed to be the fans of the future, add the pricing of games in the EPL and its no surprise to me why many avoid it.

I will watch the likes of Arsenal v City this weekend but I couldn't sit through say a Everton v Wolves game or the like.
Champions league I never bother with now, in general, the older I get, most football bores the life out me.
My ideal scenario with football would be enough money to have a box at Ibrox and make it more a social thing.

Whenever i meet a new work colleague or person soon as i find out they aint into football i loose 50% interest in them, like a power bar on Street Fighter boom 50% down

Next question is usually regards motorsport if no interest boom 25% left

If they dont drink Game Over im out
When i was at Uni, my previous flatmates were all a year older than me and were moving back to halls for their final year. All my other mates were settled in flats themselves and i was scrambling to find a room for my 3rd year

As luck would have it, i found a fine enough flat in a good location and in my rush with a week to go i signed up for the years lease

To my dismay, upon being in the flat for 5 mins i found out my new flatmate was not into football, didnt drink, was an art student and to top it all off he was a dirty smelly bastard of a flatmate

Due Diligence people

They’re missing it.

I pity anyone who will never experience a feeling as close to how I felt when the full time whistle went against Leipzig.

This is so true and totally agree but you, me, and the rest of us were emotionally involved. Football with any other team but Rangers playing to me is a bore. Especially on TV. Even if there is a European final on I will go to the local park and watch amateurs playing.
