Hampden Park – Club Statement
Over the past few weeks there have been many reports around the Scottish FA remaining or leaving Hampden. Most recently Stewart Regan has been quoted, by BBC Sport Football, as stating “We know it will cost many, many millions of pounds to stay for another term of a lease similar to what we have now”. This causes Queen’s Park, as owners of the National Stadium great concern. We have to date had no detailed access to any evidence to substantiate this statement and would seek confirmation from the Scottish FA that they have fulfilled their responsibilities, under the present lease, to maintain the stadium and further detailed evidence to support Mr Regan’s statement.
Whilst Mr Regan has stated it would take many many millions of pounds to remain at Hampden, he has not clarified how much it would cost the Scottish FA to leave Hampden. For the past 17 years the stadium has been successfully operated by Hampden Park Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Scottish FA, with many areas of revenue generation, including sponsors, naming rights, third party rentals and concerts. The present lease arrangements allow the Scottish FA to work independently with a vast degree of flexibility and the ability and freedom, for example, to bid and be awarded matches from the UEFA 2020 EURO’s.
The decision to remain or leave cannot be based purely on cost, the City of Glasgow and indeed Scotland could be greatly affected by the loss of the iconic Hampden Park, recognised worldwide as the home of Scottish Football.
Queen’s Park would further like to clarify that recent reports of rental of £800K per annum, being paid to Queen’s Park are incorrect. Under the present lease agreement, a confidentiality clause prohibits us from making public the rental amount, however we can say it is much much less the £800K per annum paid directly to Queen’s Park. The vast proportion of the rental is retained by the Scottish FA to maintain the stadium.

Good on Queens Park for calling out Regans lies.

How about a vote by member clubs on the issue ? Or does that only work when it’s about punishing Rangers ?

The SFA and Celtic in bed all over again to aid Celtic.

The whole thing stinks.

Excellent statement by Queen’s Park.

This gives us only a small worrying insight into what is going on with the SFA.

It’s plain for all to see, no matter how they tart it up, they are angling for parkhead to be the main stadium and chuck the smaller clubs some low profile internationals and semi finals.

Caught red handed Regan

We have spoken for months about this weasel like individuals desire to slowly plant the seeds in the minds of Scottish football that Celtic Park would be the new national stadium.

Some slumbered on and said nothing, while others worked in background to get this message across.
It may not be too late to stop this move that has been nearly a year in the making.

At last they have been called out.

No to Celtic Park as National Stadium. It's a joke even typed out like that.

Well done Queens , hopefully the statement will be used by the press to question what the f8ck Reagan was talking about.

The £800k includes the repair budget obviously.
Hampden is a dump.
It should be nowhere near being a national stadium or cup final/semi venue.
Use Murrayfield for old firm cup matches.
Internationals and non OF cup finals/semis can be accommodated elsewhere.
CP will be on a rota for internationals just as we will be.
What happened when Hampden was getting renovated 20 years or so ago ?
If we are vigilant it will be ok.

The funny thing is the poets think we are getting the internationals and the SFA are doing it for our benefit!

Absolutely no doubt that slither lips Rhegan is lying through his teeth to justify his forthcoming decision to line Liewell's pockets.

Well done on Queens Park for this statement.

It is shameful that our club are colluding with the Yahoos - for the Yahoos benefit! The naivete of our board really is staggering at times.

Eh, what are you on about?

Disgraceful that this type of information is out there but that we as a country now have no investigative journalists either capable or willing to turn the earth over and expose it for what it is.
What does concern me though is the lack of questions raised by SFA member clubs.
This affects all of Scottish football, not just Rangers.
It's happening in front of our eyes and this lot currently in charge have almost killed the game here in favour of one club.
I still believe it's not too late but action must happen.
Dignified silence gets you absolutely nowhere.

I cannot understand why the rest of the clubs in Scottish football are allowing Lawell to get away with this. It is obvious in the extreme what Lawell is attempting to engineer with the assistance of his placeman, Mr Regan.

Whilst the stadium is a shitpit it should be Hampden, Murrayfield or else just use everyone's stadiums like England did when Wembley was being rebuilt.
Under no circumstances should one club, be it Celtic or Rangers (haha) benefit from having their stadium as the national stadium

Is the confidentiality clause only one way? Or has Reghan broke it by falsely quoting £800k?
What’s the betting on him getting the sack? I know,I know, but really, this guy lies at almost every statement!!
QP have called him out, and good on them. It seems that the SFA are solely responsible for the up-keep of Hampden, so they must, at least, leave it in tip top condition. You can’t just lease a ground let it run down, whilst holding on to a % of the rent meant for repairs, and then say, it’s not up to scratch, we are going elsewhere.

How many times has Regan been caught brazenly bullsh1tting now? and not one journalist or people in the game have a go at him. The game is rancid up here, all designed for one club.
When the St.Mirren chairman spoke up about Lawwell running the game he was ridiculed and the journalist reporting was hounded. No one will take our side, other clubs have get wise to the sham instead of tweeting 'Good Luck In Europe Bhoys'

Why would Regan side with Liewell now, Liewell was proved a liar by him over investigations into us, liewell wants him gone.

So if we hadn't and Celtic did unopposed that would have been better?

Well, we could oppose it completely. That’s what the Yahoos did in the early 1980’s when it was floated that Ibrox could replace Hampden. They made it clear they would not support it.

We had the option to oppose it and even now to side with Queens Park against any moves to replace Hampden.

There is no sense in us giving legitimacy to a Yahoo-inspired scam to give the cream to the Yahoos and us the crumbs off the table.

Funnily enough we had a pish stained ex celt telling us out of the blue that Ibrox was in a terrible state of disrepair last week. Nothing like planting stories all over the place while they gerrymander a move from Hampden to the piggery.

The whole situation is influenced by "one individual" and that is Liewell! Reagan may have had words with Liewell but if he should totally fall out with him he'd soon be out of a job. Liewells influence knows no boundaries, his corrupt methods know no boundary. It's all about his club and his clubs interest! "Beware be very beware"

Well done Queens Park in telling the facts , let's see if any of the mhedia pick up on the narrative and start asking Rhegan some direct and awkward questions.
They'll probably report it as some amateur throwback club holding back Scottish football from progressing.

It’s nothing short of a disgrace.

However I’m not surprised anymore.

He Scottish game and it’s future is in the hands of, quite frankly, criminals
