Racism in Football (BBC Scotland trying to drag us into it)

BBC Phone in just now. Starting by talking about England in Bulgaria last night - predictably the host brings in ‘the three punishments for racism recently in Scottish football’, asks the question ‘is sectarianism the same as racism’ and keeps using the phrase ‘call it out’. First few contributors from the public immediately on the ‘old firm’ bandwagon and specifically Rangers sectarianism.

Compare and contrast with Radio 5 live who are having a balanced argument specifically about Bulgaria and uefa’s total pussyfooting about them.

Agreed. We have also certainly improved the songbook since then. Hopefully, and I think it will, continues.

However, I must have missed the discussion or racism call in after the Celtic support decided to hogtie and hang two dolls dressed up as a Rangers fan and an Orangeman from their stands.

I keep going back to it, because imagine the uproar had we done the same thing with a Celtic fan and a doll with a crucifix.

It's the hypocrisy, particularly from that scumbag organisation, that does my head in

6th point - he’s actively working with football clubs and want’s to introduce the 3 step protocol for sectarianism in Scotland....
 
It's trendy to hate Rangers. What else is particularly frustrating is that we are told not to generalise a country or religions. However when these conversations happen and Rangers are inevitablely dragged into it. The hosts and pundits etc are guilty of what they say we shouldn't do buy pooling Rangers fans as bigoted and sectarian people.

You know fine well had there been a display like that at Ibrox the gates would be closed within hours and every media outlet would be frenzied in their attack. What strikes me as very concerning is the lack of condemnation from other celtic supporters. Very quick to be offended but reluctant to call out the thing they apparently hate the most. Again celtics and lawwells reaction to this which has been barely anything just goes to show that the club basically don't see anything wrong with it.
Classic case of backwater Scotland.
 
Was there not a report or article from a few months ago that stated that Tav was subjected to racist abuse? Obviously didnt carry much weight at the time, depends on who's being abused I suppose.....
 
Yes The BBC are a disgustingly poor apology for journalism in Scotland and are effectively the propaganda arm of Sturgeons Republic. They are remarkably short sighted though as it would be interesting to see what would happen if , heaven forbid, Scotland did vote for independence. Surely the small poisonous one would have to disband the BBC and replace it with some other state aided 'Lord Haw Haw' type of public media outlet to get her deranged message out to her people. Along with the plummeting performance of the public services, the mess of the hospital crisis, falling education standards, Mr Salmonds alleged sexual indiscretions, the invention of a new currency and the massive black hole in the finances that will all follow she would need the Nazis original spin doctor Joseph Goebbels in situ to keep her subjects in check and fully updated with the latest BS !!!

From what I saw the evidence was "inconclusive" it was at the piggery you can clearly hear someone shouting "black" but the expletive following could not be heard so as far as the authorities are concerned its nothing of their interest. You'd think the best fans in the world would pull up their own. No I didn't think they would either

Exactly They always were . Ask any non-Catholic teacher working within the RC system about their promotion prospects and it is minimalized and I believe they are not permitted to become head teachers. I apologise if this policy has changed but that has always been my understanding and believe it is still the case !!! What have you got to say about that Humza ???

Have to agree with the post further up commenting on those hanging effigies a few years ago. Sectarianism is only deemed offensive when it's the other way about. A direct quote from the BBC website says "The accusations centred on effigies and a banner hung at the game and were said to be "threatening and offensive"".

As for the racism last night it sounds like it was horrible. I didn't watch it. But can you imagine there were black hanging effigies in the stands last night? I doubt the news would be reporting "threatening and offensive" in inverted commas, as if it's not a fact that it's threatening and offensive!

If Scotland were to go go independent, I'm fairly certain that Sturgeon and her party would be voted out at the earliest opportunity. Scotland is essentially a country with conservative attitudes which champions a welfare state for the best of reasons. The SNP and their pseudo socialism dressed up as social democracy would get the heave in fairly short order.

That woman's face is everywhere just now. I can't stand the sight of her. A smug, smart-arsed lawyer if ever there was one. Ask her about human trafficking and slavery in her own constituency and she'll just shake that supercilious head of hers.

We were told evidence was lost and no prosecutions would take place against the 10 Celtic fans that hung the effigies but what action did Liewell take against them?

Absolutely zero punishment handed out by lawwell or celtic and seemingly not even any sort of condemnation, evidently the celtic board are just as vile as their hardcore supporters. Same goes with the 8 goons that wore IRA tshirts to the same game. Evidence seems to dissappear at their convenience.
