A Rangers fan with only months to live said 'he'll die a happy man' after bagging two tickets for this Sunday's clash against Celtic .
Rangers bosses gifted MND sufferer Ronnie MacLeod with two cup final tickets after he was turned away from Ibrox on the night of Fernando’s Ricksen’s emotional tribute match because of a ticketing mix-up.
Lifelong supporter Ronnie, 63, attended the match in September but was told his season ticket would not scan because a payment had not been made.
The Giffnock man, who cannot speak and is fed via a tube, produced his MND card – designed to help people recognise his condition – but was told he still would not be allowed in.
But instead had to walk six miles home in tears.

Ronnie's wife Jacqueline told the Record her husband cried tears of joy when he found out Rangers had offered him the ' in demand' tickets as their way of apologising for what happened previously.

Jacqueline added: "We couldn't believe it.
"Ronnie is absolutely delighted. He cries anytime anyone mentions it to him. He's just so happy.
"This would have been the first cup final match he had missed in 55 years and he was gutted about it.

"We could not source him a ticket from anywhere.
"When he pulled the tickets from the envelope he was estatic. To see him smile like that was amazing. He said if Rangers win he'll die a happy man. "
Jacqueline said her husband was gutted and felt let down by his club after the ticketing issue in September.
She said: "We were really disappointed and a bit let down. He's been a season ticket holder for over 50 years and deserved better.
"We're both very grateful to Rangers for putting this right and offering these tickets. We'll be forever grateful."

This is brilliant.

Can I just say Rangers are fighting with the SFA where and who that every single ticket is going to (on the fat cat side). The biggest demand for tickets in the last 20 year they are saying.

Absolutely fantastic that they’ve done this for that man.

That’s a horrible thing to have happened to him at Ibrox in the first place, unacceptable.

Very pleased for Ronnie and his family.
Shame about the earlier event - so upsetting for him.

Tbf, the spfl run the lg cup unless there's been a change.

Fair play to the club on this one - they can take some stick at times but this is a perfect example of doing the right thing.

Great stuff, my pals dad sadly got diagnosed with this not long ago, horrible horrible disease

Well done Rangers and let's do it for Ronnie on Sunday.

Absolutely horrible that he was refused entry especially considering he missed the payment being in hospital. I hope you have a brilliant day and watch us lift the Cup.

Come on Rangers, just do it.

Lots of reasons to win this cup, now you have one more.

Hope you enjoy your day Ronnie.

Fantastic by the club.
On a side note my mate has MND and was a Man City season book holder till he ended up in a wheelchair. My other mate wrote to City and explained and they now offer him a space at every game with his carer. I’ve met them a few times and they get access to a cracking lounge before and after the game. He still gets a wee half pint so he can tell his wife he’s been out with the lads before the game.
