Rangers in Paris

I’ve recently moved to Paris for a year. I don’t think there is a RSC going, the official site suggests someone has tried to get one going but no sign of it.

Any other Paris based Bears on here? I’d quite like to be able to watch the games with others if possible.

I caught the Spartak away game in the Auld Alliance and it was genuinely only me and the missus watching it.

PARIS LOYAL SUPPORTERS CLUB

We are looking to form a new club to allow Rangers fans living in Paris or travelling to France to socialise with like-minded supporters away from Scotland. We will hold regular meetings at the pub and travel to games from time to time. Opportunities to be linked with other clubs in London and the surrounding area would be great. Call Philippe on 00 33 6 61 36 90 28.

Probably the same one you mentioned but must be at least one thats active?

Thanks, that’s the one I found. Dropped the chap a line but not heard anything. I just wondered if anyone else was based here.

City of 10million or something, there must be some Bears here.

Will have a look on Facebook and Twitter later, generally find half the RSC's formed post 2012 aren't even on the club website!

Had a look on Twitter, appears its just the Auld Alliance bar that shows Rangers games, another fan saying best to avoid The Pure Malt as its ran by an Aberdeen fan. You would be best trying to form a RSC to use the Auld Alliance bar on matchdays, might be surprised as to how many new members join up. Works for the barman as his profits go up, works for Rangers fans as its somewhere to watch the game with a drink.

It’s one of a handful of Scottish bars, scarfs on the wall as ICT, Sheep and maybe another Diddy Team. Can’t seem being keen to be known as a Rangers pub. I’ll go along tomorrow to see if anyone else likeminded is in though.

The Pure Malt is close by and has an SNP sticker on the door, so that’s a no from me.

Good luck then pal, imo forming a RSC in Paris and getting fans to share it on Twitter and Facebook, you will have plenty of members in no time.

Stay away from the Irish bar next to the Moulan Rougue, its a Tim shitehole

I worked in Paris between 2003 and 2008 and we used to watch the games in both The Moose Bar 16 Rue des Quatre Vents and The Highlander near the Pont Neuf.
The Moose was brilliant- loads of screens and all channels and great food.

The Auld Alliance is a shithole where you will not be welcomed.

O'Sullivans. I'll take your word for it. Didn't go in when I visited the Moulin Rouge.

Had outstanding seats for the show. Literally stage side, elbow resting against the stage. The views were marvellous

Food in Sanglier Blue just along from the shit tip mentioned above was good. Had a nice meal in their another night.

However, for just sitting outdoors and having a quiet drink, people watching, I much preferred going up the hill and taking a seat in any one of the dozen of bars and cafes up on Montmartre. Very relaxing part of the city.

Good luck with your hunt the bear project in Paris, you creepy stalker, OP :D (only kidding LOL)

Cheers guys. Good advice on the thread.

I’d never really set foot in an Irish Bar if possible to avoid. I will definitely check out The Highlander.

I've been in Irish bars all over Europe and never felt that way.

In Poland they were just playing Queen all night and serving Guinness.
Was in Bilbao when we played StMirren a few weeks ago .
The only pub that we could find showing sky was an Irish one.
Quite a few screens were showing the Bournemouth v Man U .
Thought I’d ask the barman who was Spanish if there was any chance of getting our game on one of the tellys.
Was really surprised when he done it for us .
There was a few strange looks later on when the pub filled up and here was me and the missus watchin our game.
He kept it on till the end as well.
Some are only Irish by name

Yes mate! I am a Frenchman living in Paris and I do like Rangers. I know a Northern Irish lad and got couple of friends who would like to go to a pub for some games. Especially for the coming Old Firm. Feel free to contact me via private message so we can arrange something.

I'm going to be in Paris for the Killie cup game...

Where will people be watching... good advice so far on the pubs, will avoid the pure malt and auld alliance and go for the highlander unless there are other suggestions?!

All this talk of France reminds me of the build up to the away Marseille game in 92.
I remember a hilarious photo of Durrant wearing a beret with onions draped around his neck in the Record, during the lead up.
Would love to see that pic again if anyone has it?

I think you will be doing well to find a pub with Premier Sports here mate. I could be wrong. I will check it out though.

Takes me back to the PSG game.
Carnage!
Taking lines on someone’s moped seat, ugh.
The foolishness of youth.

Some french woman got back to me apologising for the delay in responding and has offered me a free shot.

Didn't actually answer my question though so messaged them again.

From the schedule on the website they aren't showing either Rangers game but are showing the tim game on Sunday.

The Highlander have come back and confirmed that the game will be shown... but because of the 6 nations likely to be on one screen.

Watched the Morton game in there a few years back. Cool wee place. Can't remember if I had to watch in a downstairs room or if it's just a small bar but was enjoyable nonetheless.

Couldn’t disagree more, was a decent bar in a decent location. Plenty of tvs and they looked after us very well. Maybe that’s not very staunch, but that’s how I found it. Was in after the final of the euros in 2016.

Where’s best to go for the game on Friday against Hibs- I see that the auld Alliance are at least advertising the game as being on whereas the Highlander seems to give more promotion and priority to wummins rugby

The Highlander will no doubt put it on for you. There won’t be much of a crowd in either I suspect, so depends where you are coming from.

Both the Highlander and Auld Alliance aren’t too far from each other in terms of where I’m coming from (Montmatre) so it’s a case of just being able to make sure it will be on as opposed to a strong preference for one over the other as I’m only here on holiday.

Seems the Highlander has the better rep tho so will likely make my way there, cheers for the advice

Any updates on this ? Over here for work and would like to find a pub to watch the games in
