With the big picture of hampden it fills half a pageWhy even bother printing that?
Aye but it's caught them off guard this year."this is because both mens semi-finals will be played at Hampden"
as opposed to other years when they are played at

Hampden
Hampden Park is not in some distant suburb, the public transport options should really be a lot better - not just for match days.
Go to a German city of comparable size to Glasgow and you'll find faster and more frequent services. A 15 station Subway in a city of over 600,000 people is a joke. At the very least we should have kept the trams and trolleybuses.
To be fair, it's not just a Glasgow problem, most cities outside of London have pish poor public transport, but at least places like Manchester are trying to do something about it.
I find getting to Hampden fine, getting home in a timely fashion is a nightmare.Hampden Park is not in some distant suburb, the public transport options should really be a lot better - not just for match days.

We are always the Sunday game as well so get fucked with getting home on the reduced Sunday serviceits got 3 stations very near it and one in Rutherglen thats not a massive walk away
its the bizarre timetables and lack of the trains for the area that cause it
Phil Campbell issues no warning in this article

In terms of railway infrastructure we’re stuck in Victorian timesThe biggest scandal is that you have to change trains to get from north of the river to south of the river (and vice versa).
People living north of the river have to change trains to get to Hampden. People in the south have to change trains to get to the SECC etc.
Yet there is a line that joins the north and south - the City Union line. They just won't adapt it. Too much money.
Don't get me started on the Glasgow Airport rail link. There is a railway line running yards from the runway but they just can't / won't use it.
Rant over.
I've given up on getting the train back and just walk home - to Springburn.I find getting to Hampden fine, getting home in a timely fashion is a nightmare.
Walking back usually works out quicker than waiting in a long slow queue at MF after the match.I usually just walk back to Queen Street if I'm getting the train. Takes around 50 minutes.
