Selectarianism - A Scotland Only Word

It’s used by speirs, english, cosgrove, leckie etc and yet they are the real bigots in all this.
They have turned a blind eye to the deeds and exploits of Celtic supporters due to their so- called political leanings for decades.
As they seeRangers supporters pro British /Unionist/ Orange leanings are seen as being full of hate and bitterness.
I have friends down south and they can’t believe the easy ride Celtic get up here.

The hysteria and hypocrisy today concerning Clarke has been mental. Boyd being the victim of sectarian abuse at Rugby Park just a few days earlier was casually accepted by the mhedia.

Also look at the way Boyd reacted compared to Clarke.

Clarke nearly had a mental breakdown (whether it was genuine, I don’t know) and went on a deranged rant whereas Boyd laughed it off.

Calling someone an FB is seen as a mortal sin (pun intended) whereas calling someone an OB is just horse play.

Selectarianism is a great word indeed and describes what goes on in this society and we suffer from it day and day out as we are always the bad guys . What really gets right up my nostrils is the hatred and verbal abuse our Service Personnel have to put up with in their own Country like a football match down south where the soldiers were doing their bit at half time to entertain the crowd and all they got was an avalanche of vile abuse from the dregs of society from the east end of Glasgow . I don't think any other Country would allow their troops to be abused like that without shaming the club's supporters responsible for the outbursts of hatred and abuse towards our troops and it all stemmed from the piggery if anyone remembers it . I doubt if it ever made the National News .

The West of Scotland has a Religious Cancer caused by A Ridiculed Roman Catholic Faith Schools, Indoctrinated by Intolerance, laced with Deep Hypocrisy through Kids being Indoctrinated through Schooling. Of course our Politicians Shit them selves when single Schooling is mentioned, of a say Seventeen Percent Minority, bow to the minority.

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments, you really need to go easy with the capitals:eek:

You can only start to imagine what a neutral, from outside of Scotland, would start to make of the sectarian train in Scotland. I reckon the or she would spend most of their analysis time standing shaking their head with a perplexed look on their face uttering words like “ but”, “ how”, etc.

Sectarianism starts when you separate kids at 5 years old, and educate them in different schools. This is the ‘elephant in the room’ that the Catholic Church don’t want you, politicians or journalists to highlight.

Right so this week alone we have had one set of fans,
1. Hit a player with a coin while subjecting that player to sectarian abuse due to his perceived religious beliefs.
2. Break hundreds of seats and have a mini pitch invasion.
3. Attack a elderly fan of Kilmarnock.
4. Sing songs glorifying a prescribed terrorist organisation both at home and abroad.
5. Video a what looks like a 5 year old boy singing about a Rangers employee being a orange bastard and 'hoping he dies' while around about 100 adults sing along and egg him on.
6. Fans group claim that they fire bombed a Rangers pub in Spain with pictures showing fire damage to the pub.
7. Fans filmed throwing bottles and chairs and even (strangely) shouting sectarian abuse at Spanish police resulting in arrests.
8. A fan arrested for possession of Crystal Meth in Spain.
9. Graffiti in the town centre calling supporters of another team 'Hun Scum' (a weekly occurrence these days).
10. 3 supporters arrested for sending a ref abuse after their team lost a game.

We have in the same week had another set of fans,

1. Sing the 'cheer up' song to a opposition manager once.

Guess what has caused the bigger media and political reaction?

Nobody in this country can claim with a straight face that there isn't a media or political agenda against one club and its fans.

It’s a load of shite this, the mock outrage needs to stop. Next thing we’ll be offended ah the hibs fans singing feed to weegies as it’s prejudiced against Glaswegians.

Steve Clarke is a Celtic fan. They call themselves 19th Century Terrorists, Rangers fans don’t like him and they tell him so. Grow a thicker skin Mr Clarke.

I can’t imagine doing anything but laughing in someone’s face if they called me an orange bastard.

There was a story in a Rangers player's autobiography about hearing Mo Johnston had signed for us and Derek Ferguson saying, "Does that mean we're a non-secretarial club now?"
(It's not made clear if Ferguson was being funny).

See post number 17 above from sasapapacloyal which explains the situation perfectly and illustrates why it can no longer be laughed off or treated with the dignified silence. It's not just about football.

Get this post pinned - absolute spot on mate cracking post

If you want a day to day example of this, in recent weeks we've had stories about one of our new players crossing themselves coming onto the park, and another one going to chapel with his Celtic playing friends.

None of this is newsworthy unless you're hoping for a reaction. No one from our side particularly cared and many called them out on it.

Cut to today they're acting all sombre because of the very serious problem of people regurgitating a tired old football chant, (variations of which are routinely directed at us).

Posted it on my facebook, hope you don,t mind.

Let’s reflect on the last week:

Kris Boyd the target of sectarian chanting by an entire stand of Celtic fans at Rugby Park.

Kris Boyd hit with a coin thrown by a Celtic fan at Rugby Park.

Steve Clarke doesn’t want to talk about any of this and concentrate on the football.

Celtic fans carry out arson attacks on two Rangers bars in Benidorm with a third needing police protection.

Celtic fans run amok in Spain getting a battering off the police.

A young child is filmed singing a sick sectarian song about the Rangers kit man of all people.

A few thousand Rangers fans out of a 40k crowd sing a sectarian song about Steve Clarke.

Steve Clarke has a total meltdown as does the Scottish mhedia. Selectarianism is certainly a thing and all in the same week that BBC Scotland made their ludicrous claim of impartiality before jumping on the same bandwagon.
