Not been a good week for football. I fear there is a lot more of this to come. Meanwhile we will have a lavish extravaganza at Wembley in a few weeks, when clubs like schalke, standard liege and Everton limp on.

Let the very wealthy clubs take their games around the world, like the NFL and allow the rest of football to get on with it.
