Sunday afternoon statement from Rangers - clarifies the position over end of season payments/loans

Rangers have received many media enquiries regarding how our own resolution is progressing.

A spokesman for Rangers advised that Rangers Company secretary, James Blair, has had several email exchanges with the SPFL legal adviser, Rod McKenzie.

Remarkably, we have learned from an email received from Mr McKenzie that our proposed resolution is deemed unnecessary because the SPFL board already has the authority to provide loans to member clubs which can be exercised by the SPFL at any time.

The Inverness CEO, Scot Gardiner, confirmed on national radio yesterday that SPFL representatives made it clear on several conference calls that it was necessary to approve the SPFL resolution in order to release funds which would relieve the financial hardship being experienced by many clubs.

Member clubs will be shocked to learn this is not the case and any club facing short term financial difficulties should request a loan from the SPFL immediately.

Our resolution was never intended to release end of season fee payments but instead to provide loans as an advance on such payments. It is now apparent that this is already within the power of the SPFL.

This provides further evidence that an independent investigation is urgently required.

St Mirrens ex Chairman said on RS earlier the only person who can understand the SPFL rules is Rod McKenzie.

Clearly not.

It seems clear to me that the SPFL, assuming they had the best interests of their members at heart, would have at some point advised all clubs that “anyone experiencing financial problems due to COVID-19 should contact us to discuss a loan”

The fact they do not appear to have ever communicated this tells you all you need to know about the SPFL

So we have it in writing from Rod Mckenzie that the reason our resolution couldn't be put forward is because they already have the power to issue these loans?

But responded in a public statement saying it was incompetent and pointed towards the wording of the resolution?

Surely, I mean no chance in hell can they talk themselves out of this one.

So, do I read this correctly? There is a mechanism whereby short term loans can be issued to clubs (based on future prize money??). This power already exists. However, this fact was denied by the Celtic Cabal in order to force through the reconstruction and the tainted title. What was in fact already in existence and possible was offered an an inducement to the clubs.

If I’m understanding this right we also still have the information the whistleblower brought forward.

This is just a wee taster
I like it

I mentioned this earlier in another thread. It's exactly how you should play it. Drip feed them and let them hang themselves. Which is what's happening.

Sometimes you don't need to deliver the hard blow in the end up

The SPFL hold guns to clubs heads and say pass this resolution and you get prize money on Monday, vote no and who knows how long it could take to get prize money released (weeks months)

So the SPFL put in the rules to their resolution that if you vote ‘YES’ you can’t change it but if you vote ‘NO’ it can be changed within the 28 days

After the votes are in and they almost have enough ‘YES’ votes that can’t be changed they then confirm via their lawyer that they can in actual fact release funds to clubs at any point they want (the schematics is the term prize money or loan which are in essence both the same thing here)
