VIDEO footage appearing to highlight Ross County fans directing disgusting sectarian abuse at Celtic players has emerged online.
Anthony Ralston scored a last-minute goal for the Parkhead side to earn them a 2-1 victory in the match in Dingwall.
A video clip that looks as though it has been filmed from the home end behind the goal at the Global Energy Stadium and shows the moment Ralston put the ball into the back of the net has been shared on social media today.
In the expletive-laden clip, which lasts 45 seconds, shouts of sectarian slurs such as "19th Century Terrorist c****" and "dirty 19th Century Terrorist b*******" can be heard clearly, as well as a taunt about "sex offenders".
Condemning the actions of the supporters, Nil by Mouth director Dave Scott said: "No fan likes to lose a game with the last kick of the ball but it’s never remotely an excuse to shout sectarian abuse.
"This is a sad reminder that sectarian attitudes and behaviour aren’t just limited to the central belt."
SunSport has approached Celtic and Ross County for comment.
Police Scotland have also been contacted.
Authorities have received no reports of sectarian abuse as of yet, however.
The police have arrested and charged a 32-year-old man relating to a separate alleged incident during last night's match and enquiries are ongoing.
A pitch invasion allegedly took place after Ralston's goal went in as Celtic fans allegedly jumped the barriers and ran onto the field to celebrate the goal.
A police spokesperson said: "Police Scotland is liaising with Ross County Football Club following incidents of disorder during the club's match with Celtic on Wednesday, 16 December, 2021.
"One man aged 32 has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at court at a later date.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
