The Clement Honeymoon is Over

S
It's easy to pick the perfect team on a message board because that team doesn't have to play and win any games, you just know it's the right team
Every player who didn't play yesterday would have had a great game and made the difference in someone's opinion
Reality may be differet
Sterling was MOTM last week our ONLY performer in the first half , the manager chose to drop him for that it's crazy.

Clement has worked wonders with a squad that basically got two managers the sack, granted Beale didn’t do himself any favours.
Clement needs time to oust the serial losers and build his own squad.
To me it’s far too early to talk about honeymoon periods being over, far too early.
Having said that he got a couple of things wrong on Sunday. Hopefully he will learn from that.

It’s a reasonable question.

We had been pressing well, passing and moving freely and our positioning was much improved. These were all encouraging signs that Clement knew what he was doing, despite having to execute it with a group of generally limited players.

However, it’s unravelled over the last few weeks where the pressing has gone, the passing and movement is much poorer and we seem to be resorting to a lot of aimless punts up the park.

Right now there’s very little cohesion or style to our football and that’s a real conundrum given the way we were looking 5 or 6 weeks ago.

It’s not the first time a Rangers side has suddenly collapsed in the second half of the season though.

Perhaps we want to look at the common denominators in that sequence?
We are not fit enough, clearly had a suboptimal pre season and have several 'key' players who are the wrong side of 30

It was always going to be near impossible to maintain any form for an entire campaign against this backdrop

Mate, I was joking with you hence, why I was polite to you. The jokes over now and no doubt we are boring others on the thread. This is a message board and of course folk can give opinions, its the point of the forum but, tbh, you did slightly come across Ted Lasso ( Joke, joke! )

This was all yesterday's convo and now we move on and all together look forward to Wed and Dundee..
Fair play mate. All good banter

We would have took where we are when Beale was sacked.
A cup and 4 behind with a game in hand at the split.

What i would say is if he sticks with lundstram , goldson etc next season then he will out of a job come the summer.

Sterling is just returning from injury.

You have absolutely no idea about the physical (or mental) condition of the player.

Clement is hardly going to come out and announce so and so might be carrying a knock to every hammer thrower in the SPL so things like minor niggles etc are probably kept quite close to the chest.

Was Sterling match fit on Sunday? Able to play a full 90? You have no idea.

You quite literally don't know what you are talking about.

If he's fit enough to play in an OF and fit enough to come on against Ross County he was fit enough to start.

The excuses are quite tiresome.

Where's the excuse?

A recently injured player doesn't make the starting 11. Could it be that the player is not fully fit?

Nah, the armchair managers on Follow Follow saw the training sessions during the week and know for an absolute fact that the player was 100% ready to start.

At the end of the day there were enough experienced and senior players on the pitch against Ross County to drag us over the line. The opening 5 minutes of that second half are all on those players.

Fùck off with your self righteous pish.
How is it self-righteous? It’s a simple enough question. Is the honeymoon over? Judging by the many other threads I’d say it’s a resounding yes.

Now please try and comprehend that I’m not saying he needs to go - far from it. Simply that the love-in is done.

Too many fans fall over themselves to praise new managers and players but when it comes to the crux, they’re not as good as we thought.

Clement has been put on a pedestal because of a great start but the reality is he was an out of work manger and his selections, signings, tactics and media comments are being seriously questioned.
