Thought he was one of our best players last night.
Certainly no worse than Can’t-do-wrong Goldson.
 
About 5 seconds before Sands boots it out, Goldson sclaffs it’s about 20 feet straight upwards and causes panic.

Our defensive players are prone to panic. They’re easily put on edge. It doesn’t help when that edge is often created by our leader trying to play pinball. Sands gifts a corner because he isn’t settled. He isn’t settled because 5 seconds earlier we’re unnecessarily frantic.
 
Getting ridiculous if we're pinning the blame for a draw against a very strong European side on conceding corners. :D

Any player can sclaff a clearance, we nearly conceded an own goal from another scuffed clearance, luckily it flew straight at McLaughlin, anywhere else it was going in. Was that Lawrence?
 
Sands is doing well, a young player, breaking into the team and not playing in his strongest position.
Goldson 100% to blame, it was a free header inside our 6yd box ffs, he reacts miles later than the lad who scored. Someone with his experience and size should be attacking and clearing anything close to our six yard box. Can’t believe people are trying to pin his on Sands for conceding a corner!

Over analysis of everything . Used to be you went to work or pub and had a chat about the game nowadays the minutiae of everything is gone over and over .
As for the poster having a rant about the clubs current custodians and wanting King back, fück me. Reached a Euro final, sold players for record amounts, club has record turnover but wants the clock turned back to someone who brought in Pedro and really wanted McInnes.

Is it just my imagination or are you always on after a reverse, even a reverse that isn’t a reverse yet.
On the King one, get a grip and ask yourself why he’s no longer involved.
AND, Gerrard took three seasons to win a Scottish league!

Should have been a throw in all day long - needless corner given way.

Am also convinced Goldson could have given away a throw in instead of a corner for the first goal - he got his connection all wrong & skewed it behind.

As for defending corners we're back to the nerve shredding stage. Alfie & Aribo mucked in with clearing headers (Bassey not so much). Goldson never got off the ground last night.
 
Over the years needless corners conceded late in games have been costly
Bayern v manure and Atletico v Real, both CL finals.

Was a needless corner to concede. Both Borna and Sands could have handled that situation better. Borna could have got his body in and saw it out for a goal kick and then Sands needs to make sure that goes for a throw.

Said this to the guy next to me. Borna doesn’t need to go the ground to make a challenge….see the ball out for a goal kick.

Glad somebody beat me to it.
The set piece defending last night was right out of the keystone cops and Goldson was a culpable as any with misplaced headers and miss kicks, mainly skying the thing straight up in the air.
We are pretty poor at the simple “line clearer” and reset routine.
