The Hampden Hoodoo

Some frightening reading for All Hallow's Eve.

Rangers Hampden Hoodoo was of course the quarter-century wait for a Scottish Cup victory between 1903 and 1928, broken by a 4-0 victory over Celtic in the April 1928 final.

However, we appear to have developed a modern version:

6 defeats in a row at Hampden
5 games without scoring
13 goals conceded
2 goals scored
12 goals conceded since last goal scored
Andy Halliday's goal v Hibs the last Rangers goal at Hampden
3 managers since last victory at Hampden

2-3 v Hibernian 2016 SC Final
0-1 v Celtic 2016-17 LC Semi
0-2 v Celtic 2016-17 SC Semi
0-2 v Motherwell 2017-18 LC Semi
0-4 v Celtic 2017-18 SC Semi
0-1 v Aberdeen 2018-19 LC Semi

More worrying is the fact that we have deserved to lose every game, comfortably outplayed by the opposition on each occasion, with the possible exception of Motherwell's streetwise thuggery.

So, is it just coincidence, a combination of poor players and management and the striker bad luck last year? Or something more seriously wrong with the psyche?

I guess we'll find out on Sunday.

Happy Halloween...
