The Hummel Transfer Thread.

Why is it a problem?

It's not a problem.

The same people moaning about utilising the loan market are the same people wanting instant success.

The loan market allows us to take a punt on players without having the liability of spending and not getting a return. It also allows you to have players you couldn't normally afford.

Celtc Quick News reporting that the filth's attempts to sign Wilson have hit a 'snag'... No mention that he may well just fancy the Gers more than the Paedos....

CELTIC’S hopes of landing Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on loan have suffered a blow.

The Anfield side are insisting teams will have to stump up huge cash – if the Welsh youngster DOESN’T play!

Brendan Rodgers has shown interest in the exciting touchline attacker, but faces fierce competition from 12 Championship clubs, including Hull City, where the 21-year-old rising star spent the second half of last season, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Norwich and Stoke.

The Hoops, though, are wary over financial demands that dictate Wilson starts games.

Naturally, there will be no guarantees from the champions – as Rodgers proved last season when Charly Musonda struggled to make an impact.

The Chelsea youngster arrived on an 18-month temporary transfer in January, but was returned to the London club at the end of the campaign with a year of the original agreement still to run.

No idea. This keeps getting posted - but so does the fact that we are waiting for a work permit. Maybe, if he married recently, it will take time for him to apply for - for example - dual citizenship or whatever.

Exactly what I said below it takes a while , Interveiws and all sorts to make sure it’s not a marriage of convience .

That’s their way of justification when he signs for us or a Championship team. They are so predictable.

Absolutely

If only we had the same foresight last year and were able to get Pena, Herrera, Cardoso, Dorrans in on loan deals.

What a shed load of money that would have saved.

In an ideal world we could buy all the players needed to put a team together to win the league. However, that sort of spending is over!
It would take us a ton of money and years to buy all these players at the level that we can spend, so although it's not ideal it is the best way for us to move forward-having a couple of starters as loan players will allow us to get level of quality that we probably can't.
And-most teams do it anyway!

Looks like Morelos will NOT be heading to Fenerbahce after their, reported, derisory bid.

Also, checking on Flight Aware it seems that the private jet supposedly belonging to the Fenerbahce owner left Glasgow this morning and is now in London/Luton (via Edinburgh bizarrely, just as it came in that route).

May tie up with the link about us rejecting their offer.

Loans are good if they come in with enough quality to play in the league now and are not just lightweight players with potential. The players being mentioned seems to be a huge step up from our previous loans of younger players.

I see McBurnie was snapped at the game tonight.

Seemed to be purely in a fan capacity but I’m surprised no one has latched onto it yet!

Loans are only short term solutions.

What if a loan signing is so successful at the club, that other players of a similar/higher quality see that and go, "I want a piece of playing for Rangers." That loanee can spread the word of a fantastic time he had at Rangers and would urge anyone to sign.

The short term solution can in turn aid the long term picture. We are attempting to raise our profile once again with limited resources. We can't cut out a large section of the market when it comes to signing players, just because fans want to see someone sign on for a 3 year deal.

We have had our arse bitten so many times in the recent past with lengthy contracts being dished out to Forrester, Hodson, Herrera and Pena to name a few.

Finally, look at what it does for fan excitement and buy in at the prospect of players from Liverpool and Roma coming to Rangers. It's exciting so why not get on board with it?

Had the unit arrived in his Roma tracky yet?
It’s a bit ridiculous but somewhat predictable that a European transfer deadline has now passed and we are still waiting for the work permit. You would think they would want to help their own teams in Europe.

Does anyone believe that lot would be left to wait for a permit?

Be interesting to hear if the delay is with the football authorities providing the Governing Body Endorsement or whether they have already done that and the delay is with the Home Office? It’s not entirely an SFA issue.

Gerrard on Sadiq "watch this space" and "You are aware I am fan, but right now he is still a Roma Player". STV saying still awaiting clearance. But that's a home office matter not a football one.

Unless the loan is an option to buy at the end of the loan then you are actually developing the otherclubs player.
Yes you may get other players from the same club but once again you are going through the same process.
As for not getting onboard with it what exactly has that got to do with the point i,m making absolutely nothing.

It was rhetorical. Wash the veet off your fanny before logging in.

So what if we are developing another teams player? If we get success from them being with us, and they in turn help develop our full time players merely by playing alongside them, then we have had an absolute stormer without dishing out on transfer fees.

If the loan player scores the winner that wins us 55 then he has made us millions from champions league money

If said loan player helps us win the title, has he not helped developed all of our players into 'champions', which in turn makes their value increase in a transfer market

We don't have 12 million to go spunk on a striker these days, the loan market is a much better place to be for us
