The jersey is too heavy for most of our players

Correct.

The jersey is too heavy and some have been entrusted with it by those who shouldn’t have been in a position to place that trust.

It’s a shocking position to be in, from a total wining position to fearing how badly we are going to lose this is totally unpalatable.

A clear out of players, or at the very least a drastic change in attitude and mindset from the players, and board level management needs to happen.

We can’t continue to accept this mediocrity, this level of acceptance that while some players get away without criticism because they might play well in one out of 5 games or how many goals and assists our captain gets and that’s cool because he’s the captain and hall of famer etc, we can’t continue this level of acceptance.

It’s not good enough.

3 weeks ago we were dreaming big, and now we are having nightmares. The players on the pitch are to blame for that.

Excelllent post, perfectly put.

Major problem is though thanks to the reckless spending over the previous two summer windows it’s going to be near impossible to rebuild the team with the limited funds we are likely to have.

The wage bill is completely unsustainable at the minute and probably needs to come down as well meaning we won’t get 100% of the wages saved from OOC players.

Next season we’ll probably need at least six new players who are genuine quality to come in and hit the ground running at a minimum to get near the title with our budget that’s asking a lot.

Agree with all that mate , especially the number of players needed

Problem is where's the money going to come from. We can't sell them to get out of this hole as they're more a liability than an asset., who in their right mind would buy that dross ? We've probably handed tim £40 million with our last two results.which will put them even further ahead than what they already are financially .Now we're hearing that Automatic C.L. qualification will be withdrawn for Scotland
Hate to say it but we're in far worse position than a lot of us realise.and thanks to the players we've now to witness that wee smarmy bastard on the steps of the paedodome in May

Yep said it the other day we’re in severe danger of the smelly mob disappearing over the horizon.

They win the next two titles and it’s 20 titles in 26 years for them and they overtake our title haul.

We’re an even bigger shambles than 12 months ago which is incredible.

Those are awful statistics :oops::(
And we continue to bottle it every season

thats exactly my concern, we once again need a major overhaul, we have players we badly need rid of, some of them still under contract so we need a team to come in for them. (thats no going to happen, especially in form)

They have just more than likely been handed a huge financial windfall where are we getting the money to manage to rebuild and compete next season.

we may save money on wages with getting some out the door but this rebuild could take years

We need to address it otherwise it will just turn into another German league with one team winning it all the time with us being Leverkusen that may occasionally win it.

The board bottle it.

They don't have the conviction to ensure that 'they' finish on top season after season. If they had the wherewithal, we wouldn't be in this predicament. And before someone jumps down my throat, we have been here several times before and nothing changes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: they aren't big enough to run Rangers.

Agree.

They have a billionaire who is major shareholder while we have a few wealthy individuals who have helped our cause.

Its like a reverse of the 80s and 90s.
We had Murray, King and Lewis putting cash in while they had the Whites Kellys etc.
Even when they had decent teams, our mentality won through and the reverse is happening now

It’s often said that we make players worse; our coaches turn them into poorer players. The reality is the players can’t handle the pressure. There’s very few (maybe none) in our squad who thrive on the pressure in the way that top athletes need to. I wonder if we’d have benefitted from a good sports therapist a few years back. A lot of top top sportsmen and women use sports therapists to take them to the next level.

A board that was properly serious about winning the league would've went into debt to sign a striker in January instead of the cheaper option of hiring a portuguese misfit who's bounced around on loan thanks to his current employers trying to con potential suitors so as to offload his eyewateringly massive financial liability.

If the current executives masterplan is that a slow, prudent, incremental build will reap long term dividends, then they are in for a rude awakening.

The patience shown by the support to this 'regime' has been exemplary. And when the disquiet starts to snowball the fear card will be played in the interests of self-preservation.

This forum will be a conduit to that end as it has been several times in the past.
