I don't agree with this 'stand still' argument.

It ignores the fact that young players are going to get better, plus the fact Sima missed a big chunk of the season while Cortes hardly got going.

Having both for a full season would make a big difference.

Also, if we don't buy them, we are going to need to replace their position in the squad with comparable quality anyway. You're only not 'standing still'' if you get better, and with our budget, that is going to be extremely hard.
