Official The Summer 2024 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

Ralston made 18 appearances in the league.
Walsh, 14.
Taylor, 35.
Scales whilst not Scottish came from Ireland and made 34 league appearances.

Hardly world beaters.

Barron may be an option. Many fancy Shankland. Erhahon at Lincoln should be bought. Watson at Kilmarnock could be an option. Dundee have Cameron and a younger CB although he may not be Scottish? Daniel Armstrong has been mentioned.

Last summer we threw millions at foreign duds. I’d say the above names have had a better career in Scotland that Scott Wright pre Rangers. We need a squad. When our better players have been out the ones that have come in have been junk: Wright, Dowell, Matondo, Lawrence.
Maybe lets try sign our own O’Riley, Hatate etc before we try to sign our own Taylor, Scales, Walsh?

We can sign Armstrong, Cameron & Erahon pretty easily, it’ll ensure we cement 2nd place.

You got an inside on this?
No just thinking logically if I was manager/making decision.
Obviously dependant on someone wanting them. Can see one of the lower teams in series a coming for dessers and us getting our money back.
Danilo will more than likely get a preseason and manager make his mind up then.

Erhahon is an interesting one. He’s a Rangers fan -and there is a BBC article earlier this month saying Lincoln expect him to fetch their record transfer fee (admittedly can’t be that big a fee), Lincoln player of the year, captain and easily the best defensive mid in league 1. Only 22.

Big unit of a boy who has excelled since leaving St Mirren.

Their record fee is around £650k. Erhahon is a good player. Strong, aggressive, combative, left footed CM comfortable in possession and has a great engine and drive on him. He’s fit and of a good physical stature. Scottish too, experience playing in the Premiership and will continue to improve.

Decent enough stats for someone just breaking through in first team football, if a RB team are interested too that must be a good thing

RANGERS are closing in on a deal for Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng.

Red Bull Salzburg, Wolves and Al-Ahly have all been tracking the 19-year-old South African.

But Gers have stolen a march in the race for his signature, SunSport understands.

Mokofeng has helped Pirates into third place in the South African top-flight, with four goals and six assists to his name this season.

Comfortable in midfield and on the left wing, he's taken to senior football quickly since stepping up from the SAFA-Transnet School of Excellence.

Despite his small, slender frame, the teenager has started 16 matches in the South African top flight this season - helping Orlando Pirates into third spot.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement and his scouting guru Nils Koppen have already proven they're capable of looking far afield to bring in talent - not to mention bringing in exciting young talent with a decent potential re-sale value.

They've already snapped up Mohamed Diomande, a product of the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, although he had successfully moved to Europe at Nordjaelland.

Oscar Cortes, snapped up on-loan from Lille, is 20, as is potential Brazilian target Jefte.

The interest follows reports of the Gers eyeing a summer move for Ferencvaros winger Adama Traore.

Despite injury woes the 28-year-old has scored 14 goals in 24 games for the Budapest giants.

Ibrox boss Philippe Clement is planning to shake up his squad after seeing Celtic clinch the Premiership title on Wednesday.

And reports in both Africa and Hungary claim the Belgian is in the hunt for 48-cap international Traore.

The winger is under contract with Ferencvaros until 2025, and valued at £3.5million.

He joined them from Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol two years ago, and his CV also includes French outfits Metz and Orleans,

Traore began his senior career with DR Congo side TP Mazembe, and he also had a loan spell with Saudi club Al-Adalah.

Fulham have also been credited with an interest in Bamako-born Traore.

The Premier League side already have a winger with exactly the same name

That’s the Sun for you they don’t have the exact same names

I hope the Traore link isn't true.

I don't think we should be spending £3.5m on a 28 year old - and certainly not one who seemingly has had injury problems.

Clement and Koppen will need to be absolutely certain on him if they chose to go down that route.

I get we'll need some experience as well as young talents but it's a risk.

I thought Scott Wright was out of contract this month?

Has played a handful of career games. Surely would be a massive gamble.
No more players from the American league thanks.

We need tried and tested players from Europe and dare I say even Scotland.

Sure, buy the odd American here and there, but only as a trial when the main squad is in place and settled.

We can’t rely on these type of players to be an integral part of our squad nor can we afford the money to gamble on them

Orlando Pirates are a South African team.

Just watched the YT "is on another level" highlights of the young S.A player Mofokeng, who we've being linked with and to be honest if that's the boy's highlights, he is nowhere near the level we need.

What part of Africa is in America ?

Too many times players have been mentioned that we are im interested in ,going to sign or have looked at and too many times it's been disappointment because we build up hope, I'll just wait till the being of the season and see who we have.
You understand what a rumour is, right?

About 95% of these rumours have been fabricated by either supporters craving attention, supporters making suggestions or the media running any old shite for clicks.

See it for what it is and enjoy the ride, because right now, it's better than the football.

So true , you're right it's funny to heard these so called signings that are just fabrications.

Was hoping this second post would be as identical as it is but instead finish with ‘he is exactly what we need’

Great - more links with average lightweight foreign players - watch us go spend another £10-15m on foreign players who come here and have no idea what they are stepping into, all on 4 year deals and give us one good performance every 4 games.

We need a strong spine in the team and one that’s filled with a core of Scottish talent.

Shankland for me is a no brainer - would walk to Ibrox, score goals for fun with the chances we create in this league.

Erahon, Barron, Cameron should be others brought in. Would also look at loaning Ramsay from Liverpool.

I'm not adverse to having some more Scottish talent but its a myth you need a bunch of 6ft giants in the team, those Japanese players across the city are not exactly huge.

A technical team will pass around the mediocrity of Scottish football.

I think any foreign players we do sign will be young with room to grow, just because they are not superstars now doesn't mean they wont be in the future, very few players at Ajax, PSV, Salzburg, Porto and Benfica make an instant impact in their first season we need to have some patience.

That doesn’t exist with our support
That's not fair. I'm pretty certain it'll be 1st June before this:

Difficult to judge the level both players are at but we badly need multiple options in the wide positions. Mofokeng Looks similar to Cortes in the clips

Depth is going to be crucial if we are to play with the high intensity Clement keeps referring to three times a week. I dont want this see Sterling playing seven positions again next season. And we are not going to be able to spend loads of money so going to have to be smart with depth/project signings
