Tony Docherty - Our strikers are as good as Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos

I remember years ago an Aberdeen player (maybe Michael Hart)? said similar about boyd just before we played then at Ibrox.

The big man got a hat trick against them. Hopefully Morelos does the same tonight.

Just think if this nomark could have been our assistant manager, thankfully DM bottled it, and we got Stevie G and his team.

It’s worth a try I suppose, but why stop there?

I mean, if you’re going to spout fantastical rainbow-coloured horseshit, go for the very top - Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, that sort of thing.

Don’t limit your delusions, Tony.

Taken from the toilet paper that is the dhaily rhebel;

The second last paragraph states that they have 4 recognised players (not sure if all forwards cause I don't give 2 shites about the sheep) and they have a combined total goals less than Morelos, and infact the tally is the same as Morelos 7 last games o_O
So aye Tony, ya prick, maybe all your players together are as good (or rather will score the same number as) Alfredo.

Our strikers are as good as Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos insists Aberdeen No.2 Tony Docherty
The Dons assistant manager has backed his forwards to deliver ahead of Ibrox showdown.

Tony Docherty insists Aberdeen’s strikers as as good as in-form Alfredo Morelos .

The Pittodrie assistant manager has backed his frontmen to deliver as the Dons travel to face Rangers at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Aberdeen ’s four strikers have scored just seven goals between them this season, while Morelos has hit the back of the net 17 times to be Scotland’s top scorer.

But Docherty believes in his forwards and he said: “Morelos is doing it for Rangers at the moment as he looks confident, is scoring goals and is enjoying doing that.

“We have strikers as good as that, that just need to get on that run.

“To have that belief that they are going to score one or two goals every game.

“We are not that far away from it and will keep working hard at it.

“We will make sure the striker that is playing gets enough opportunities to score and then hopefully as an individual they step up and take the chances.

“The goals will come. I see it in training every day when we play in games and do crossing and finishing.

“It is goal, goal, goal and it is just about taking it into games.

“Perhaps one of our strikers puts one in in off his backside and he goes on a run of scoring goals.

“We are creating chances and getting into the final third, we just have to take that bit more care. We have to be a bit more clinical, maybe with the final cross, final pass or final shot and try to convert our positive play into goals.”

On-loan Manchester United forward James Wilson, Sam Cosgrove and Bruce Anderson have scored just two goals each while Stevie May has netted just once.

And Docherty reckons that poor return will soon increase. He told the Evening Express : “All strikers get confident scoring goals and once they are on a scoring run it is hard to get off it.

Only wan way tae find that oot docherty........Play!!!!!.

And ye'll get yer chance the night.

Rooney was their best striker, he now plays non-league down South.
Alfredo has since been capped with Colombia receiving praise from Falcao.
You need more than rattling beads to ever magically make any Aberdeen striker as good as Morelos

Hahaha....

Is that Dereks token poet? what a f*ckn zoomer of a man!

Not 1 of their players would get into our 18 man squad, especially not their forwards.

Time to put the sheep down tonight! No more excuses.... hammer them!

To think people wanted his mate as manager with this poet as number 2 is absolutely staggering and gives me THE FEAR.

Rooney was their best striker and yet he spent more time on the bench or at left wing than playing centre forward last season. That's due to McInnes favouring a non goalscoring striker in Stevie May ahead of him. Probably says more about McInnes than it does Rooney's ability.

Any self respecting sports editor would say f_ck off ya rocket thats not getting printed.
Daily Record is turning into the new Sunday Sport with the dross it prints.

Could you imagine how depressing it would be to have had this clown as our assistant manager??

There's backing your players, and then there's just plain old talking shite.

Our midfielders have probably scored more goals over the last couple of seasons than their strikers ffs.

I'm glad he's been stupid enough to come out with that drivel before this game. Freddo Hat-trick tonight.
