Turning point

Since 2012 the vast majority of Scottish football clubs and their supporters have hated us. Probably due to our previous success and the perception of cheating through ebts, not paying debts( face painter ) etc.
They took great delight in kicking us when we were down.
Now---- all of Scottish football will be glad the scum have got their comeuppance for Dubai. They're seen as arrogant, avoiding rules while the rest are punished and need to comply.
Are we now at the stage where our board should flex their muscles and demand punishment, remove their pawns from positions and gather the support of other clubs.
This is an opportunity not to be missed. We now have the upper hand on and off the park.

We are, now very obviously, the premier club in Scotland. As such we should be taking the lead and especially in these covid times.

Some 30 years ago gate takings became the income of the home club only and this obviously was to our benefit. And them.

However for a healthy league there must be competition and that is why, perhaps along with other things, there should be a reappraisal of Scottish football as a whole. We need a strong Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs. We need a stronger St Mirren, Killie & Motherwell and Falkirk & the Thistles.

Start by merging Edinburgh and Dundee teams to give some sort of challenge outwith Glasgow.

I'm sorry but i would rather my club kept the cash. We aren't exactly rolling in it and your wanting to start giving away gate money.

The clubs had their chance last spring. They reneged.

Nothing has changed.

Already with tonight in mind, Hibs have been shafted by the filth and the SPFL.

Not a cheep from them.
Hibs (or any other diddy Scottish club come to think of it) at an Celtic/SPFL board meeting.

By the way at my auto-correct always changes 'Hibs' into 'jobs'.
Is this the most unrealistic auto correct ever?

Agree with your final point re needing a stronger league but this cannot be at our expense. We cannot weaken ourselves and pass over some of that advantage to the other clubs to narrow the gap. They have to work this out themselves.

My main point was about a reappraisal. There are numerous avenues where cooperation with other clubs could be to everyones advantage.

There are various places where I think that professional football is pissing money away.

So far as gate money is concerned, in many leagues it is not the major source of income and I think it should be remembered that it takes two to tango and to make a football match. The past seven years have seen a deterioration in the quality & competitiveness of Scottish football. Celtic are a busted flush and we are can look forward to dominance. But look what happened to Them with no competition and poor crowds and a subsequent loss of income

When it comes to not paying debts the rest of Scottish football can't complain much Hearts ,Dunfermline, Motherwell and Dundee (twice) have written off about £70 million plus through insolvency.

Aberdeen and Kilmarnock both had banks wipe out millions in debts. The yahoo board were flying out of Scotland every Saturday night with bags full of cash to hide it from the inland revenue and using charitable status to pay a lesser tax rate than every club in scotland for decades as well.

But no uppity faux concern about the above from other sets of fans.

If their was a vote of no confidence in the SPFL leadership tomorrow its inconceivable that it would not succeed.

Dont get confused with them making a c.u.nt of it and the mhanks in positions of power wanting to change it.

They have subverted their way to this position since the days of Burns as manager, they arent giving it up because they are annoyed with them on a jolly to Dubai

So are you suggesting we start splitting the gates again? If so, no thanks.

Aye that would work imagine someone said merge us and the tims so a Scottish club could compete in Europe , how much support would that get ? None the exact same with the clubs you mention .

That's just like asking a business to give half it's takings to their rivals. Some business model that is.

How could we afford better players if we did this, how do we pay for the new edmiston house, how do we pay for stadium expansion if this happens. I find it very hard to believe what I have just read.

Utter madness. These bastards voted us down to the fourth division and you want us to give them our money?????????
