Was barisic injured?

Has he though?

Or do we expect less of Halliday so his average performances are praised, whereas we expect more from Barisic so his average performances are criticised?

He was phoning it in today. I think that’s peoples issue with him.

Until Halliday has a bad game...then it'll be Flanagan, until he has a bad game then it's back to Barisic. That's how it works on here.

Not wrong but when has he had a good game ?he has played ok a couple of times he is a poor defender weak verging on disinterested in being involved any kind of dual with the his direct opponent Stewart ripped him to shreds in Aberdeen i wanted to give him a good run in the team after his injury but his performances just dont merit it unfortunately.

I disagree. He had a poor game but all our players did. He was miles better than Goldson, for instance, and is getting much more criticism.

For the reason, he’s the new whipping boy.

Halliday also used to get accused of lacking heart and now he’s the poster boy for showing heart. Maybe or fans are just fickle as %^*&?

Lets just remember McCoist, Whittaker, Naismith, Bomber all took time to settle and they are Scottish.
Borna is Croatian, new country , new language, new life with family, football has many elements, and maybe he is just needing time to settle, lets cut him some slack.
Also had 2 injuries, so these take time to get the back in to form from .

I agree with all of that. I thought today was a very weird performance

Fell over his own feet twice in the first half. Knowing our luck he's probably injured.

Something not right about him probably got a decent contract with decent money and that’s him happy. Probably disappear back to Eastern Europe. I’d rather we’d played big Wallace.

I don’t think it’s that he seems though to be suffering from some sort of mental illness , I’ve never seen a player with so much ability withdraw into himself and start acting like he’s never seen a football before, today he was falling over, kicking the ground instead of the ball etc - it’s something maybe a specialist could sort out , something needs done .

Rangers is a big step up for him-he's struggling. Confidence in football is massive and he's so short of it it is unbelievable.

Fine but he’s no use to us another bad waste of money signing. One good centre half maybe two is all we have to show?

It’s starting to look like he can’t cope with the weight of the shirt. You can see in flashes that he has real ability but the majority of times he gets the ball, instead of getting his head up and looking to go forward he is already facing towards him own goal and looking for the easy option

Not for me mate I’ve found his constant injuries and SG’s comments on them an alarm signal. Another ‘sick note’ specialist mate.

I think Wallace is physically finished at this level personally.

I hope it's still a settling in period for Barisic, the injuries this season won't have helped him.

Andy has never been accused of lacking heart that I can remember. In my opinion, and it really doesn't amount to a great deal, Halliday was wrongly said to lack ability; he is very under-rated as a footballer. After that performance in December he should not be out the team. Barisic or Halliday?; the answer is very easy in my opinion.

Any time he got the ball he wanted to play a nothing ball inside. That or fall over it. Something seriously wrong there. No where near the player that played against us

OVERLY HARSH BIT REMOVED

You are accepting mediocrity. We have seen far better international players who were shite bags, he is another one and less esteemed than many.

He looks like a fish out of water. Maybe the manger unfortunately to say has been to hard on him because he looks terrified to do anything.

He is a lightweight poof, and the day I don't banned for this is the day after we have just won the league.

You need to calm down mate, coming out with that pish, how can you call yourself a fan. Total prick

He barely looked like he could run 90% of the time. Apart from maybe 3/4 times didn’t want to really get forward. His control looked all over the place and actually like he didn’t want to be on the park.

When he was taking the corners he was so slow in getting over to them; and in the first half it looked like he was half limping.

Is he carrying some sort of injury
Do not think so just think he has no bottle [ old saying] ,dud signing we are stuck with him and a few other S.G. signings.

What a weird performance from Barisic yesterday. Hope I’m wrong but he looked as if he was shitting it right from kick off. Accepted no responsibility and basically hid for large parts of the game. And then there was his stumbles!!

He clearly has a confidence issue. Whether it is around making a mistake, or scared of getting injured, he needs to sort it.

He has bags of ability, he has all the physical attributes to rip this league to pieces, but he needa to get his head in the right place pronto. So many times yesterday he shit his pants from taking on Ricky fucking Foster.

The only question is if there are better options in that position. It seemed obvious to me yesterday that there is, although lack on consistency is the problem with all f them.

He’s the new whipping boy, it’s sad to see.

He didn’t play well today but none of the team did. At least the defence kept a clean sheet, the forward players were a disgrace.
He was one of many yes. However he was turned inside out at shittodrie every time Stewart came near him, doesn't want the ball and absolutely shites his pants at every challenge for a ball.

We both know that won't cut it here.

Wrong.

Halliday has been accused of lacking heart AND effort by our support at times. I’ve also seen many people say things like “for a so called bear” whilst calling him out.

You want an example? Go back and look at the abuse Halliday got after the Scottish cup semi v Celtic when he poleaxed Roberts (was lucky not to be sent off) and then allowed McGregor to run off him for the opening goal.

Barisic’s bad performances for us have been nowhere near as bad as Hallidays, and I say that as a fan of Halliday.

Our fans just need to stop being so fucking fickle and actually support the players.

Because Goldson has credit in the bank, Goldson at least won a header at a corner that forced their keeper into a save. Barasic at times was hiding so as not to receive the ball I watched it with my own eyes.

We should have learned our lesson when it comes to passengers and having them in our team over the last few years has cost us.

People’s opinions on Barisic being good (mine included) come from nothing he has done in a game in a Rangers jersey and that speaks volumes. He was superb for Osijek and plays for Croatia so everyone things he’s going to be a superstar for us.

We all know a Rangers jersey is a heavy jersey for some and as I’ve said countless times in here, Barisic looks terrified of playing for us. Easy pass every time, normally back to Worrall. It’s embarrassing. People like Windass got shite for it. Why not Barisic? Is it just because he’s played a few games for Croatia?

He’s done absolutey nothing to suggest he should be in the team ahead of Halliday. If Barisic played in the game vs Celtic, I reckon we perhaps are coming out of that game with dropped points. Halliday’s challenge on Ntcham set the tone and tempo that day for our win. There is no chance Barisic is making that kind of challenge. I know that’s not his game, and fair enough. But whatever his game is (overlapping, attacking Left back) he needs to start showing it or he’ll be gone. Two home games against St Mirren and St Johnstone and he’s been our least effective player.

Yesterday in the second half there was a moment when Worrall took the ball off him and drove forward. Sums it up.

How many goals were given away by him being turned “inside out”?

He won plenty of tackles yesterday, including a few 50/50’s.

Why is it so difficult for people to accept the guy had a poor game? Why does it always have to be because he’s a “shitebag”?

So Goldson can be terrible and we can still expect others to get the criticism? Great logic.

Who delivered the ball for the Goldson header?

Goldson has played over 35 games this season and largely been good, played through injury to help us to our best result in 7 years and he doesn't hide.

And Barasic delivered a decent corner great. Maybe this week at training he can practice passing the ball 5 yards in a forward motion, practice moving from behind an opponent to be able to receive the ball from a team mate or even learn to put a challenge in to at least attempt to win the ball back for his team.....

But it's not just one game though, is it?

He’s been here 8 months and granted he’s had some injuries but he’s done absolutely nothing to suggest he’s the player we thought he was.

His last two home games have been against St Mirren and St Johnstone and he’s been awful in them both. If he can’t do it in those games then there’s not much hope for him.

It’s admirable you are defending him but I’m not interested in a “50/50 he won” or that he had “a decent cross”. He needs to be doing so much more.

I watched it with my own eyes....I know a shitebag on s football pitch when I see one.

What also backs my opinion up is the manager publicly calling him out for it...is Steven Gerrard also wrong?..

What’s the point in him playing through an injury when he puts in performances like he did yesterday? He genuinely looked like he was towing a caravan at times.

Right, so Goldson is to get credit for getting a header on target but Barisic gets sarcastic praise for delivering said corner o_O?

Barisic wasn’t great yesterday but he was also nowhere near as bad as some are making out.

I thought that match is where Halliday was criticised on ability. A question though: if Halliday and Kent played so well in that game in December, why not play that more often? If it works, it works. I personally think we need to ditch the squad approach and play our best eleven as often as we can. If that means people either out altogether or on the bench, so be it.

Is that Barisic’s fault that he’s not the player we thought he was? Or is it our fault for expecting too much?

Could th truth be that we were expecting so much more because we thought he had it in him but he actually doesn’t? I still don’t think it’s fair to call him a “shitebag” and other things for his current performances.

I’m not denying he had a poor game. I think his overall contribution this season, when fit, has been decent. I certainly don’t think he deserves anywhere near the criticism he’s getting.

With all due respect Barasic main job in the team isn't to fling in a decent corner it's mainly to defend the left side of our defence and to offer support on the left side of our attack, none of which he is doing well. There is question marks on every aspect of Barasic other than his delivery at set pieces.

Genuine question here. Were you at the game yesterday?

Yes I was.

Goldson was miles worse than Barisic too.

No, he was criticised for lacking heart and effort. Other, more successful players than Halliday, have been accused of the same by our support though so it’s no surprise.

Maybe the manager thinks Barisic is part of our best 11?

We’ve kept 3 clean sheets in his last 4 appearances.

Mate, he’s not been decent at all. He hides, especially at home. If you watch him when we are in attack, 9 times out of 10 he’ll pass it back to Worrall and think he’s done his job because he’s kept possession. I’ve seen it for years now with some of our players that have ultimately ended up leaving our club.

There’s a moment I’ve mentioned above in the second half where he passes it inside to Worrall when the crowd are getting anxious and Worrall actually drives forward with the ball instead of him. It summed up his day yesterday. He should be nowhere near the team come Wednesday.

He's a great player with a sweet left foot who has been injured and struggled to come back from it which has impacted his confidence.

He'll be here for a long time and become one of the best left backs we've had!

There's a prediction for you.

He obviously rates him better than Halliday, but Halliday and Kent helped give us our best performance this season; they combined well that day.

I disagree.

You’ve obviously made up your mind so there’s no point in discussing it.

So we should just stick with the team that played that day for the rest of the season then? Since the played so well in one game?

Yes I was.

Why do you think Barisic is being started or even thought as of being our best left back?

I know what the answer is going to be.

Now ask yourself, has he shown that once since he’s signed for us? Has he shown it against SPL dross like St Mirren and St Johnstone at home?

The answer is no.

And I strongly believe your opinion on Barisic is based on his performance against us for Osijek and the fact he’s played a few games for Croatia.
