So even if there's a clear foul that the officials miss, you don't think VAR should be used?
A punch off the ball , something that’s a obvious red then yes , a normal foul that could be debatable , no.
So even if there's a clear foul that the officials miss, you don't think VAR should be used?
Your making a point for VAR to be used in this occasion , when it was available and they never called it , so surely that goes against your point of using it.Sorry I disagree.VAR should be used for incidents like last night.A clear case of cheating to win a penalty and ultimately win the game.Nearly everyone on this thread called it as a dive(the few others are either taking the piss or have an agenda). Its a blatant dive and if any decent referee who has the chance to look at the replays agrees with the ref then they are as bent as the player.
Spot onBeen beating this drum for ages.
Var doesn’t prove that last night was a penalty or a dive. It’s an opinion people have of the incident. If a ball is over the line people can’t have an opinion of that. It’s either over or not.
eh!Your making a point for VAR to be used in this occasion , when it was available and they never called it , so surely that goes against your point of using it.
The fact they didnt makes it even worse!!Your making a point for VAR to be used in this occasion , when it was available and they never called it , so surely that goes against your point of using it.
They will have checked the VAR and still gave the penalty which looked like the wrong call , so how is that a good thing for VAR ?The fact they didnt makes it even worse!!
It's not.. that's what I've been saying since the start of the thread! They will have checked the VAR and still gave the penalty which looked like the wrong call , so how is that a good thing for VAR ?
As the title suggests, why even bother with this.Napoli player blatantly dives in box and VAR doesn’t overturn the penalty.Disgraceful decision by the ref and an even worse decision not to overturn it.
Your right..if the botons in charge of VAR looked at the incident and decided to agree with the ref then the game is well and truly f*cked! The issue here is therefore not VAR, but its application.
The ability to re-watch a clip does not take away from the subjective interpretation of the incident.
It was never going to be unanimous.
