Wolves score what looks like a decent goal, good cross in, good header, no offside. VAR have a look and advise the ref that a wolves player has caught a Bournemouth player in the face, there is no appeal from the Bournemouth player, the Linesman is 5 yards away gives nothing.

Is this something VAR needs to get involved with?

It’s a clear foul, and if he hadn’t done it the defender may have got in the way, if not to block him but to put him off.

Thought Newcastle were denied a clear penalty last night also. The refs down there have had a shocking season.

Correct decision as it's a clear foul.

He actually turns round to see where he is, and throws it across to block him getting to put pressure on the ball.

given Lawrence was judged to have fouled a celtic player in the lead up to a goal its easily argued this is the same

The foul was actually by Kleivert who pushes Cunha. Cunha waves an arm, but it does not connect. Kleivert then turns to try and tackle the Wolves player who crossed the ball, instead of going down and clutching his face. No-one from Bournemouth was appealing. VAR is taking over.

With that interpretation I’m going to guess you are a grade one referee in Scotland.
