Match Thread ** Rangers v Hearts -12:30 Sunday 22nd - Sky Sports **

We are in complete control but not creating enough chances. We need our full backs further forward providing the width and Murphy and Candeias inside making runs beyond Cummings.
We just need more balls and men in the box and gamble a bit
 
Candeias' crossing, or attempts at it, has been very poor.
I'm at a total loss to what Windass is doing today.
Murphy has also been in large anonymous.
Cummings can't play up front himself.
The list could go on.
 
Absolutely dreadful. Lacking any quality, effort, willingness or desire. Murty would get more out of picking 11 guys out the stands for the second half. He's not the right man for the job, not even close to it, but he's been let down badly by his players and his board.

I've never been as apathetic watching Rangers in my life. Why the feck should I care when the 11 in the jerseys and the suits in the boardroom don't?
 
I was kind of hoping for a big reaction from the platers to last week. Sadly it’s not there. The sooner the season finishes the better. Looking at another skelping next week too.....:( :(
 
Dire stuff. As we already knew, Cummings can't play up top himself and Windass struggles at Ibrox as teams sit in and restrict the space.
 
Dorrans is playing much better, McCrorie’s distribution is shocking and we are playing with ten men with Josh
Windass. It’s hard to see where a goal is coming from as we are set up.
 
Have no fear,the Murty factor will drive us on in the second half and we'll ride the crest of a wave into next week.

I could settle for that, Windass off, Dorrans to fill his spot and Docherty in to Dorrans position, its useless hoping for a change of tactics, it wont happen
 
People are saying we're playing well, but I reckon Hearts will go in at half time delighted. They are letting us have the ball and daring us to break them down and we can't. We have two-thirds possession because Hearts aren't interested in having the ball, not because we've been scintillating.
 
Only way to beat Hearts is to get in behind them. Murphy/John or Candeias/Tav need to be getting into those spaces and, crucially, getting a decent cross in.

I've defended Windass plenty on here but he's contributing nothing. Has to be a candidate to get hooked before the hour. Could bring on Morelos or we could go for Goss or Docherty.

At least there is a bit of effort on display today so, in that respect, a bit of improvement over last week. We desperately need a goal/lucky break though.

Looks more composed more commanding and a better shot stopper than Wes distribution maybe not as good but Wes form and distribution has fallen off a cliff imo.

I just like the look of him played very well in the big games I’ve seen same can’t be said for Wes.
 
How can people watch us on the tele every week.

It’s worse and more painful than paying thousands a year following us lol.
 
Another invisible display from Windass, he has talent but no heart. Has to come off for Morelos who will add some physicality up front and provide better support for Cummings.

Dorrans, attacking midfielder, playing too deep AGAIN. He's clearly being told to do this, an asset that we are wasting. McCrorie has again shown that his future in our team is as defensive midfielder not centre half. So how about this Murty - move Dorrans into a more advanced position and have McCrorie at defensive mid? Seems obvious to me.

Yet he still makes things happen, he drops deep, he moves out wide, he runs at opponents, he grapples with the back four...

Morelos should have started today.

I will stop going on about how inappropriate I feel the banner was after this post, but I wonder who it was aimed at at what it was expected to achieve.

Players running down the tunnel see that a section of the fans think they are incompetent, what a lovely way to support your team.

The Board see the same sentiment aimed at them and it can only act as a divisive message as I think that the board, upper management and our DOF have worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to improve the infrastructure of our club and if you wait until the summer you will see that.

I find it strange that such a banner was deemed necessary as most of us know that Celtic have a better team and stronger squad and the loss was no surprise. I agree that the manner of the defeat was disappointing- but if we are to go in a huff and see fit to create ridiculous banners every time things don’t go our way I think we as fans have lost our way.

Do you really want King and the other board members to walk away? Are they really incompetent? Have they not shown pride?

I know that the bears I know are better than that. Oh well - maybe I am out of touch with the rest of the support, but I feel many of us would like to see us fail so they can say ‘I told you so...’ what a shame. When we win this game and go second, you can have a think about it. Enjoy the game bud, but this weird infighting and over-the-top critasism is not doing our club any favours and we seem to be our own worst enemy at times.

On a side note... the pitch is looking real nice!
 
Play another man up top , windlass is no help to the lone frontman. I fail to see what murty sees in this system.
Three hearts defenders against one man up top .
Very poor first half .

Yes Morelos has missed chances, he also drags defences all over the place, places they don’t want to go which opens up space in behind for runners, desperately need him on

That’s no criticism of Cummings, just not his game

This is garbage and predictable, give the ball to Tav who can do very little apart from give it to Candeias who runs around a lot but couldnt cross himself, McRorie showing again he’s a midfielder and no centre half, Windass, less said the better, a coward

Agree with this, but the Invisible Man needs hooked now, not later.
 
We absolutely have to win this game, it’s our banker of the five. We need Morelos on sooner rather than later here. A draw is no use to us.

The right choice but the wrong formation to help him.
Youd’d be as well putting Holt up front on his own.
One up is a specialised position.

I have several issues with Wes myself especially distribution, I wouldn't mind seeing Alnwick carry on until the end of the season and test him out let him show us if he's worthy of the jersey. Who knows Allan McGregor is out of contract at Hull but Hearts are looking likely to sign him.
 
U can’t play one up top against 3 defenders n keep pinging crosses in hitting first defender all the time, windass just isn’t getting close enough to Cummings therefore Cummings is dropping deep to get involved ball breaks out wide ball gets crossed in no one there.
Either strikers over crowded bu CBs or no one there at all.
One up front really does my box in especially wen yur midfielders don’t kno wen they should get in the box to support. :mad:
