For decades it was blocked out by the tenements at Hinshelwood and Skene Road sir.Operation Block Ibrox out ehh
Cheers, just seen it after posted.Yep I’ve posted link above.
Also talk of reopening the Ibrox Train Station.
I stand corrected, it’s the majority of the Albion carparkLooks quite good to blend in with the stadium. Looks like where the burger vans are placed , maybe just maybe the developer might have to upgrade the road .
Have you ever tried to get out the car park just now on a match day?We should be putting a multi storey car park there. It would pay for itself on match days at a few quid a car
I agree.I think it looks pretty good. That area is an eyesore at the moment.
Surely before we all jump in it would be good to understand the financial side of the deal

Have to agree, I think that looks goodI agree.
We’ve been wanting the GCC to spruce the land up around Ibrox for some while.
I like how they’ve took inspiration from the Main Stand and kept the theme with the red brick and shape of windows.
The Albion Car Park and the surrounding radius is a dump until you hit Ibrox.
Theres are thread on here from Jan about it looks like Ibrox station could be going ahead aswell. Is this real? I was not aware we were selling the car park, someone clearly wants to obliterate all decent views of our iconic main stand.
Yep I’ve posted link above.

That doesn’t look like the car park that those flats are on it looks like the wasteground next to the sports complex to me.
I don’t think it is because it looks like it’s adjacent to the grassy roundabout. That doesn’t look like the car park that those flats are on it looks like the wasteground next to the sports complex to me.
I kind of like it at the moment where you can see the main stand from ages away
It is the car park.. and there will be smaller section at the back for parking...That doesn’t look like the car park that those flats are on it looks like the wasteground next to the sports complex to me.

Not to me it doesn't. Definitely the Albion. The picture that @Uddy Gers has posted looks like it is on the on Hinshelwood Housing?
Yet the developers have on the Albion Car site
Do we own that land there in between the Albion and sports centre?I don’t think it is because it looks like it’s adjacent to the grassy roundabout.
Nope.Do we own that land there in between the Albion and sports centre?
What view is it blocking exactly? From the motorway?
Funding for ed house project ?It's a major, major blunder by the Board. A ludicrous decision to sell the land there. Deranged.
Not to me it doesn't. Definitely the Albion.
Look at the position in relation to the roundabout.

There is more chance of there being a Protestant Lord Provost of Glasgow than there is for a Scottish local authority to grant permission for any extra parking. I was involved with a recently opened public building and the one thing the council were absolutely firm on was that we would only get the bare minimum of spaces because they want folk out of cars and using public transport.Have we sold the Albion car park?
Given the proposed parking restrictions we should be expanding the available parking not building flats on it.
Yeah! I jumped in before reading the whole thread.Yeah has been cleared up now
You don't need to own the land to make a planning application so it does not necessarily mean we have sold part of the land. However it could be we have and raised some money . If they are going to get a lot of flats on it then we will be getting a fair amount of money. What I would like to see is a train station build just up from the filling station.
Yeah! I jumped in before reading the whole thread.
