Of all the games they could have chosen, they picked this?
A game that is another example of how we %^*& it up in new and unusual ways.

“And here comes Shengalia to knock Scotland out of the World Cup”
Still remember that line all these years later.
Apparently later that night Hansen was dancing on tables in a local boozer much to the disgust of Miller

It was mental, in a good way.I was at the costa del sol in 2012. I mind wondering what it must have been like during the spain 82 world when 20,000 scots decended on it long before the tartan trannie days.
Must have been a great time apart from how it ended of course.
There is that absolute howler of a f**k up between Hansen and Miller (I think) that gifts the Russians a goal which you watch now and go, “Ah, there it is - Scotland finding a way to blow it as only they can.”
Thats a very good team to be fairFull team of quality,

As a lad i loved that Brazil side, was gutted when Italy put them outLoved that World Cup. I was 11 then and loved everything about the Brazil team apart from the big striker Serginho who was a donkey. Wish they had shown Scotland Brazil, Eder’s goal was brilliant
Can't imagine Hansen dancing on tables in a boozer , in fact i can't imagine him in a boozer“And here comes Shengalia to knock Scotland out of the World Cup”

McGrain by then was nowhere near the player he had been in the 70’s imho. Why no Dalglish and mcGrain?
Steve Archibald over Dalglish thoughMcGrain by then was nowhere near the player he had been in the 70’s imho.
Brother of Eddie Gray who also played for Leeds and ScotlandWatching this as my dad has it on, literally never heard of Frank Gray.
Wee Coatbridge flag in the corner there.
I think dalglish was carrying a knock.stevie archibald was banging them in for spurs before his move to Barcelona.Steve Archibald over Dalglish though
it was gifting two goals to New Zealand that stuffed us

As an 8 year old I was gutted, I had the Scotland away jersey for that campaign and my Mum always reminds me I was crying at the endIf anyone wants to re-live some memories from the 1982 World Cup tonight BBC Scotland (channel 108 on freeview) are showing the game at 7.15pm.
I was still willing us on even though it's a game from 36 years ago. They just scored their second there and i am still gutted watching it again.
