Barcelona (2) v Bayern Munich (8)

This has the feel of 2011 AC Milan. Squad is done, rebuild could be a long process.

Messi linked with both Milan teams, wonder if he would jump ship?

This Bayern team looked finished after being swatted away by Liverpool last season.

Some turnaround. pretty much the same team too.

:oops::eek:o_O

Never thought I'd ever see Barcelona lose like that. We are seeing more of these total hammerings between top teams in modern football though. The higher pace of the game and lost art of defending means when one team is on it and the other is off it on the day, this is more likely.
Spot on about defending.

Half pissed watching game, but an absolute pumping Barca got, and deserved. Bayern were relentless.

Issue with Barca is summed up by the fact they’ve loaned out Coutinho(who is a fantastic player), not giving game time to Dembele and swapped Arthur(one of the best upcoming Brazilians) for a 30yr old Pjanic

Barcelona are a club in complete turmoil.

They have sleepwalked into a fucking disaster zone.

Their elections are going to be a year-long shitshow, they don't have much money to revamp this squad, they don't have a manager, their team is scarred from the last three champions league campaigns, their best players simply don't have the hunger anymore and they have lost so many of their promising youngsters to other clubs because they refused to start moving on an ageing squad 2-3 seasons ago.

They are in serious, serious trouble.

70% plus of revenue goes on wages.

You don’t sleepwalk into that. Great times, great teams.

But someone(or more) have taken their eye proper off the tiller there.

We of all supports should know how how important it is for the people you trust to be in charge to actually fucking do it.

Will be really interesting to see how they come out of this.

There was a great article on the Athletic a couple of weeks ago which touched on the points you make in the context of both Real Madrid and Barcelona, both clubs are looking at significant rebuilds and seem to have lost their shine a bit.

Yes.

It’s wonderful to see :)

Embarrassing for Barca. They have a nobody as a manager and he clearly can’t get a grip of the players. Attitude was terrible. They need a hard nosed manager who can impose some discipline and about 8 new players. Don’t think they have the money for it.

I can't actually believe what I just seen.
I said at Half Time it was like watching Brazil v Germany in 2014, feels like this is the day the tide turned.
