What’s the story with Shane Duffy? (All Duffy posts in here)

I can only assume, given the rules were different last week and he’s flown into London and not Scotland that he’s fluked it and is eligible.

Never mind the bubble which is a bit vague.

ScotGov today told anyone that has returned home from Dubai since the 3rd of January that they should isolate for ten days from the date of their return.

Something doesn’t add up.
I'd imagine he's exempt as an, ahem, "Elite Athlete".

Leaving their bubble to spend a few hours in one of the busiest airport terminals in the world and then 6 hrs +on a commercial flight with members of the public just a week ago but being able to play tonight is certainly questionable though, especially after their own assistant manager said just two days ago he wouldn't play because of this.

They've clearly had permission for him to play, other sides are getting shite for taking team photos or car sharing with folk who are tested regularly but one of their players can sit on a flight full of random people and be ok to play their next game?

Don't know how he's got the green light to play but he's a liability and might gift Hibs a few chances. All the same, I think questions have got to be asked, especially after their assistant manager seemed to think he was out of the reckoning for tonight's match.

I'd guess he is eligible to play it's similar to international players returning on commercial flights they are not in their bubble for that period can't see them being that stupid after all that's gone on today

Do quite like the theory that they are knowingly fielding an ineligible player.

If they were going to do that do you really think Shane Duffy would be the one they would choose? Really?

The bravest man in football said the other day Duffy would see out the season but Covid protocols meant he would be unavailable the other day?

SHANE DUFFY remains in Celtic’s plans according to assistant manager John Kennedy, and he will return to the squad after the Hibernian game tomorrow night.

Duffy was granted leave to return to the UK from the club’s mid-season break in Dubai to deal with personal issues, and will subsequently have to remain away from the rest of the group until a second round of Covid-19 testing has been completed.

But he will then come back into Neil Lennon’s thinking, despite speculation around the defender’s loan spell from Brighton being cut short this month.
“Shane had a couple of personal things that he had to leave Dubai for, so we sent him back on that basis,” Kennedy said.
Following protocols, he’ll miss the weekend’s game because he’s left the bubble. He’s been through one round of tests, he’ll go through a second round before then returning to the bubble, which is normal protocol. Nothing unusual.
“From then on in Shane will be in our thoughts in terms of the games, but we just had to give him some time to sort some things out

Null and void plan is certainly gathering apace.
These absolute scum rat bastards are trying their hardest to derail our title bid by any means possible.

they can’t beat us on the park, so they will try to rock the boat off it.

They’ve admitted Duffy is ineligible, they’ve admitted mistakes and protocols breached, and yet there will be ZERO repercussions for their actions and no one from this club is taking responsibility for the selfish actions they have made.

If Duffy has returned on a public flight, surely he's impacted by the new 10 day quarantine required for people returning from Dubai. He should be in quarantine until Jan 15th, possibly 16th.

This isn't a footballing regulation, it's a government regulation.

What the fûck is going on here?

Confirmed at their press conference on Friday that he is unable to make the Hibs game due to Covid protocols but then pops up in the team.

its advisory, from 4am today its illegal.

That mhob have just stuck up two fingers and lifes dont matter

Kris Boyd calling out Celtic on the Shane Duffy circumstance and him being ruled ineligible to play. The pantomime continues!

If they are deliberately trying to field an illegible player to try get the league cancelled, then Kennedy has messed that plan up by admitting they knew he was possibly illegible.

This will sit at their door if that's the case, then they will be hammered.
