Lower League clubs did get grants from Govt, top flight had to apply for loans.
However, you say the Govt grants were to cover testing - having stated earlier they were only testing if drawn against a top flight club. Which is correct - but you can't have it both ways. Basically these clubs have had a wedge of cash from the Hearts guy and from the Govt to keep them going in the absence of their 3 men and a dog crowds since, it would appear, they've not had to take the more expensive Covid measures (they will obviously have had to implement some Covid-safety stuff for training and games, just no testing). I don't want to sound like I'm coming down too hard on them, and they certainly have their place, but they've had a raft of handouts so my 'sympathy' for them is running a wee bit thin at this stage.
