McLaughlin never touched him, the player dived in my opinion. Great save by him also.
Round ye Cumdog.
Round ye Cumdog.
I actually thought the same, having said that I would have be screaming for a penalty had it happened at the other end.....go figure eh?McLaughlin never touched him, the player dived in my opinion. Great save by him also.
Round ye Cumdog.
Please explain thatSounds stupid but it was both a dive and a penalty. And before anybody asks me to explain that, naw. I can't even explain it in my own head.
WHAT?Doesn’t need to make contact in this instance for it to be a pen. Goldson absolutely sold him by letting the ball bounce. Great save!
WHAT?
I hope you’re failing at sarcasm here.
It’s most definitely a penalty. Can’t argue with thatMcLaughlin never touched him, the player dived in my opinion. Great save by him also.
Round ye Cumdog.
I’m not disagreeing it was a pen, a very very soft one, but how does a penalty get awarded when, you say, there doesn’t need to be contact?Nope. McLaughlin was nowhere near the ball, the attacker jumped over him to avoid contact, either way our keeper was going to take him out, pen.
There doesn’t need to be contact for a foul to occur, if the player has to avoid being impeded and loses possession etc, then he’s been fouled.I’m not disagreeing it was a pen, a very very soft one, but how does a penalty get awarded when, you say, there doesn’t need to be contact?

Seen it plenty of times with red cards, guy comes flying in two footed - the other player gets out the way, but the tackler is still sent off because he’s endangered the opponent and they’ve had to react.
He missed the penalty, I’m not abusing him.Why is Cummings getting abuse? What have I missed

Because he overran the ball I think mateI said in the match thread.
While still a stone waller that was a total dive.
The guy could have walked the ball into the net but tried to get McLaughlin sent off and win the pk so just fell over a leg that he could have easily hurdled.
I've seen it multiple times on tv and he left his trailing leg in and unsurprisingly caught McGlaughlins shin then did the full swallow dive.My first thought was a clear dive. Need to see it again on tv
The game would never be finished if a ref had to apply the rule of, I HAD TO RUN ROUND HIM. FOUL.There doesn’t need to be contact for a foul to occur, if the player has to avoid being impeded and loses possession etc, then he’s been fouled.

I never said anyone went flying in, and I’m not conflating anything, was merely saying that you don’t need to make contact to foul someone. The game would never be finished if a ref had to apply the rule of, I HAD TO RUN ROUND HIM. FOUL.
Where did anyone go “flying in”, and I’m sure you’r conflating the rule of Endangering an opponent, to a soft penalty.
This incident was a pen, engineered by the attacker and allowed to be so, because of poor decisions and circumstances. Nothing more.
Decent 'nalty down the middle, but not convincing.Jason missed on purpose
Where?I’m not conflating anything, was merely saying that you don’t need to make contact to foul someone.
Perhaps using a tackling example was a bit off topic, but regardless - the rules state that contact doesn’t need to happen for a foul to take place.
Charging out like that could be viewed as reckless or careless by the referee, the referee may interpret that situation as the attacker having to manoeuvre themselves out the way to avoid contact.Where?
I know where the rules state, endangers an opponent.
Otherwise? I’m lost.
Not sure mate, Cummings has had nothing but great things to say about us. I wish him all the best, (except from the penalty today)It was a clear penalty man
C'mon to %^*& honestly
Both him and Tav were shocking today.Stonewaller.
Goldson's attempt at defending was horrendous and it wasn't an isolated incident either.
so, in effect he kicked the goalie, surely that's a foul the other way.....I've seen it multiple times on tv and he left his trailing leg in and unsurprisingly caught McGlaughlins shin then did the full swallow dive.
Our keeper didn't "bring him down", he deliberately lowered his foot to make contact with his leg and "won" a penalty.
I said it earlier but I actually thought at the time Madden was going to book him for simulation!
I agree I think.Sounds stupid but it was both a dive and a penalty. And before anybody asks me to explain that, naw. I can't even explain it in my own head.
Can you just clarify that you have indeed just called a penalty a "nalty"? Thanks.Decent 'nalty down the middle, but not convincing.
Know for a fact if it was v the scum Cummings would have had it nestling top left(his, not keepers).
/me beats chest twice and points at Cummings. No words needed.
Surely this doesn't apply if you can hurdle the challenge without being impeded though? There doesn’t need to be contact for a foul to occur, if the player has to avoid being impeded and loses possession etc, then he’s been fouled.
