And in other SPFL news. The committee are delighted to announce Adrian Durham onto the board, with immediate effect.

They will pay lip service to the miscreants with a ban on the players concerned and a small fine for the clubs...tied in with a warning of game forfeiture and a big fine for any subsequent incidents.

They are actually going to win out of this, they are going to recoup the fee for Bolingoli and replace him possibly with Barry Douglas.

Nothing will happen they are scurrily trying to track our players and staff to try and lay some blame at us. 100% All part of nationalist Scotland.

Is it not a case that Aberdeen have missed two games St.Johnstone & Hamilton because of their actions and thats under the two week guideline? The game against celtic is due to celtics actions so therefore it is only celtic who should be punished for that game being off.

Probably fine Aberdeen and award their opponents the 3 points for the missed games.

Celtic, no punishment since they were quick to condemn his actions, 3 points for Aberdeen game.

I hope the other clubs all have press releases/statements ready to go straight away.

From STV

Aberdeen and Celtic, in addition to their players, could face charges and sanctions from the footballing authorities on Friday after the SPFL introduced new Covid safety rules, STV can reveal.

Eight Aberdeen players broke rules when they visited a city restaurant and pub recently, while Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli took a trip to Spain without telling his club and failed to quarantine on his return, playing against Kilmarnock days later.

STV has learned that while the players will be dealt with by the SFA, clubs face potential punishment from the SPFL.

The league’s board made an addition to the SPFL rulebook in recent weeks that allows for action.

An annex to the league’s rules and regulations lays out the responsibility for clubs to follow the rules on distancing and to adhere to any changes to the guidelines and safety and protection measures. It also has specific instructions and rules regarding the regular testing of players and staff.

Where a club is accused of breaking the new rules an SPFL disciplinary hearing would be convened where the club would be able to attend and give their side.

In a statement issued through their Joint Response Group on Thursday, the governing body and league said that existing rules will “be strengthened to include the provision of sanctions for players who do not adhere to COVID-specific football protocols or government health guidelines”.

The SFA’s compliance officer is expected to charge Celtic’s Bolingoli and the eight Aberdeen players with bringing the game into disrepute, or with failing to act in the best interests of Scottish football.

The Joint Response Group’s announcement on Thursday came after discussions with the Scottish Government, who had warned that Scottish football was on a final warning after the Celtic and Aberdeen incidents.

Both teams have had games postponed as a result. Senior figures at Pittodrie and Celtic Park have apologised to fellow clubs and to the authorities and have made clear their anger at the actions of the individuals involved.

One word in your op3ning thread says it won't be happening. COULD.

It's quite possible, since no game would actually be played, to award a 0-3 defeat to both teams.
We're used to results in Scottish football that never actually happened.
what a novel suggestion (and historic if it transpired) - kids ask in the future,
How Could they Both Lose the Same Game?
- answer, because they were all fuds!

Yea, right.
You really think that the anyone will be made a example of here?
Sturgeon will have told him to do something, he will do the least he needs to.
Bluff and bluster will be the outcome on this incident, but if any other club step out of line then we see punishment.
He will use the “yellow card” here, then the red on anyone else.

The red card would be for the whole of Scottish football, not just the team that cause it.

F.uck all will happen to these scumbags and their sheepshagging whores because this country is a cesspit.

We must focus on ourselves. Win our games and we will be a huge eleven points ahead of COVID FC, they have not experienced such pressure in nearly a decade. One dropped point in any of their games in hand combined with a fixture pile up WILL see that hideous gremlin Lennon implode again.

Aberdeen Football Club has completed its internal investigation into the actions of eight players last week. The investigation confirmed that these players breached the Club’s COVID-19 protocols and government guidance.

AFC Chairman, Dave Cormack, said: “These players made a huge mistake. They not only went against government guidance but also breached our own COVID-19 procedures, set out by the Club to all players and staff. Due to the privilege that has been afforded to professional footballers, and having witnessed the outrage and anger their actions provoked, they are in no doubt that they have let themselves and the Club down. They are truly sorry and have apologised unreservedly to the First Minster, health and footballing authorities, the fans, the Manager, the rest of the squad, our staff and board and the wider community.”

“As a result of our investigation, these players have been severely reprimanded and fined heavily. Contractually, the specifics must remain confidential between the Club and each player but, rest assured, the financial fines are in line with the severity of the consequences of their actions.

“The Club has chosen to donate these fines to NHS Grampian.

“We fully appreciate the outpouring of dismay and anger by those who have been impacted by this virus, by those who have worked selflessly to protect us and by our fans, who have, despite health and financial worries, supported the Club with their hard-earned cash during this period.

“Their actions were indefensible but the investigation has been completed, they have apologised, they have been punished by the Club, and are suffering the humiliation that goes with making a mistake in the public eye.

“The Club, like every employer, has a duty of care to its staff and we must also consider the wellbeing of these players, who continue to face an ongoing barrage of criticism and personal abuse from many quarters. They’ve been taught the harshest of lessons and have the chance to redeem themselves and help demonstrate that the Club is better and bigger than this regrettable episode.

“I can only hope that Dons fans and the Aberdeen community will remember the tremendously positive work the Club and Trust, including staff, volunteers and the players, have delivered during this pandemic, and help us all heal from this.”

The Aberdeen 8 should all be given match bans. Otherwise what punishment are they actually facing.

Same for Bolingoli although he won’t play again anyway.
He could still be banned at his future club, I'm sure it big Mohsni who had to serve his ban in France

Possibly way off the mark here and not sure if this has been brought up before but why aren’t the HSE getting involved in this?

The players may not have been at work when the infringements occurred but both Aberdeen & Covid FC should have had procedures in place to ensure their players didn’t attend the workplace after they were potentially infected.

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 may have been contravened and surely they should be investigating what has went wrong at both Aberdeen & Septic.

Try telling an HSE Inspector that the clubs aren’t responsible for their employees (players) and see what response you get.

In terms of Aberdeen's posponed games, are they still off this weekend due to the players breaking the rules on the 1st of August, or is it because of the Aberdeen lockdown?
If it is due to the players breaking the protocols, then when do Celtic play again?
Saturday will be 15 days since the players went out. Is Saturday's game postponed purely due to the Celtic player breaking the protocols?
If so, should Aberdeen get those points?
If not, how can Celtic be allowed to play 14 days after their player broke the protocols when Aberdeen can't play 15 days after their players did?
Too many questions.

I hope they state that any re-arranged fixtures can’t be played infront of any fans should the BCD rules change by that point

Otherwise would mean actually being rewarded for breaking the rules.

That can't happen, right?

You suggest we give Them a 3-0 victory over Aberdoom while Aberdoom are also awarded a 3-0 victory over Them in the same game?
I suggest no points awarded, and three goals against each of them. That would work.

It was an individual who happened to be a Rangers fan rather than a Rangers fan that caused the issue here, you see?
