Ange : I dont rest players if they want a rest they can get one when they are 45

He has no idea how to manage a title challenging squad in this league. The fact that he branded their fixture list as “ridiculous” already when it is just a bread and butter two-game a week schedule for any SPFL club playing in Europe says it all. His style of play is simply not conducive to success in our league. Gerrard and Beale realised this when we faltered after the winter break and changed the way our team played, totally removing the high press from our game. Also went out and signed Roofe and Itten in the knowledge that Morelos just could not be expected to play every game in Europe and in the league.

Postecoglou needs Furuhashi for every game. Without him, there is no plan B.

It’s why in every game under GVB we have went through spells where it looks like we’ve taken the foot off the gas. We were 2-0 and comfortable v St Johnstone and let them have the ball and the closest they got was a couple of corners. You simply can’t go full pelt for 90 mins. Scottish football is 100mph as it is never mind making the team expend extra pointless energy.

It's about managing those periods where you have a lull.
 
We’re only half way through the season and they’re dropping. They’ll get the rest they cheated for but it won’t completely refresh them. They’re supposedly only bringing 3 signings and they’re the ones from Japan who’ve played a full season. Even if they are fresher after the break you’d think they’ll start breaking down for the run in. Long season and pressure piling on will smash them if they’re still in it then.
 
Its these soundbites that had a lot of them eating out the palm of his hand and they were lapping it up but anyone with half a brain knows it's not sustainable over the course of a season. The winter break fiasco is to let them try to strengthen, of that there is no doubt, we just need to keep chalking up the points and all the pressure is on them. I'm just gutted we dont get to give them a hiding in their own hidden on the 2nd.

I heard that on the radio, that's a child's way of looking at football, you can say the players shouldn't rest, but as games piles up, their bodies will tell them otherwise, in what world does this guy live in, no rest for top athletes, what a stupid thing to say

Correct, and when given the opportunity to rest some of his better players in a dead rubber, Flange brought on his best player in an attempt for a glory win and knackered the player up.
 
Play a game of football on the Saturday morning and you can still be aching on the Monday / Tuesday .

Ange will lose the dressing room with that mentality.
