We’ve heard for decades that referees are masons, h*ns, orange b***ards, season ticket holders at Ibrox, you name it. There was also a laughable documentary made once upon a time called “Anyone but Celtic”. That’s the narrative that’s always been created by them for years. Every time Rangers get a penalty rightfully, a player is rightfully sent off against us, a penalty rightly wasn’t awarded against us, there is huge uproar and major conspiracies from even professionals within the game like John Hartson, even over correct calls. That highlights and emphasises that they don’t care one single bit about fairness, they’re willing to allow blatant cheating if it suits them and them only which perfectly sets up what I want to talk about.
Celtic have always resorted to a certain tactic, pressure and intimidate referees. Behaviour like that in the past was always immediately shot down by especially Walter Smith who publicly backed officials and told Celtic to stop behaving like victims. Of course now because no one within Rangers calls it out like Walter did, Celtic’s intimidation tactics are working a treat which has been the case for a good few months now and it’s played a huge factor in them even being in a league race. We all know what Bankier did back in November at the AGM, funnily enough he done so as Gerrard exited Rangers. Gerrard’s another one who would’ve certainly called out their intimidation nonsense. Ever since that moment, nearly every single week wrongly, all the potential game changing moments are benefiting one club, Celtic of course. Meanwhile officials are terrified to give Rangers plenty of decisions that aren’t even debatable.
So let’s go over a good lot of the decisions they’ve had since Bankier piled the pressure.
St Johnstone at Hampden- Won 1-0 with a handball in the build up, should’ve been ruled out.
Celtic 1-0 Hearts-Kyogo scores an offside winner.
Celtic 1-0 Motherwell- Motherwell denied a stonewall penalty at 0-0 and Celtic also awarded a free kick wrongly which led to the goal.
Ross County 1-2 Celtic-A ridiculous amount of injury time added which of course Celtic scored a winner when the game should’ve been over.
Hibernian 1-2 Celtic-Kyogo scores an offside equaliser, a winner which he was assisted from a free kick that shouldn’t have been and Hibs were denied a complete penalty which John Beaton is looking straight at it. Pressure wins them a cup now.
St Johnstone 1-3 Celtic-Liel Abada’s opening goal is scored with his arm which Kris Boyd highlights is ridiculous.
Hearts 1-2 Celtic- Celtic’s second goal is offside against Hearts once again.
Aberdeen 2-3 Celtic- Celtic’s winner is once again dodgy as Abada is an offside position and blocks Bates as Jota scores. Aberdeen are also denied a stonewall penalty at 3-2.
Celtic 3-2 Dundee-Dundee are denied a stonewall penalty in the last minute when the ball clearly hits Jota’s arm. The same day Rangers were denied two stonewall penalties against Dundee United at Tannadice.
Livingston 1-3 Celtic- Celtic are awarded a penalty that’s daylight robbery which is missed. Two minutes later, they’re awarded a corner which is nowhere near the Livingston player and it hits the Celtic players arm, Celtic of course score from the corner. Then in the build up to their second goal, the ball hits Tom Rogic’s arm not once but twice which helps them seal the win and break their curse at the Tony Macaroni.
I’ve highlighted that. Since their AGM, decisions from officials has saved them almost 15 points and has won them a cup. The silence from our board on the pressure they piled is an embarrassment and it’s potentially about to cost us a league title. VAR has to be introduced ASAP and an independent enquiry which should’ve happened 2 years ago is needed.
