Definitely.Quite right*
*I'll be expecting one at every ground we visit in Scotland next season if we win the Europa League.
I think Ferguson used it as a way of hitting home to his own players that they had lost the title and it was meant to spur them on for the next season through a bit of light humiliation.Did Alex Ferguson start this? Guard of honour for Chelsea at OT fully expecting to beat them & let them know they were still there?
Memory fails me nowadays.
It’s a load of rubbish anyway.
What a bizarre question.
Journalists are getting more cretinous by the day.
Journalists making themselves look like idiots to try and make a manager look like an idiot...
Please tell me you are 8 years old?I hate Atletico and am a fan of Real. However, this is the correct decision. These 'Guards of Honour' need consigned to the dustbin. Meaningless nonsense.
I don’t like Guardiola much but the looks that he gives the press for their more insane questions like this are superb.
Totally agreeGood, it’s a nonsense thing that needs binned.
Not quite - maybe add close to 60 years to that. Please tell me you are 8 years old?
I was only joking. I thought with your years would come wisdom. Not quite - maybe add close to 60 years to that.
You do enjoy coming across as a grumpy f*cker on here, don't you?
Right back at ya mate. Was kidding as well - but I stuck the emoji's in as a clue.I was only joking. I thought with your years would come wisdom.
I’ve no time for fake respectGood, it’s a nonsense thing that needs binned.
When has anything like that ever happened before? I take it it was a question from a Madrid based Journo because he is a Barca man?
Why be false, though? If you don't have mutual respect then just admit it.I think it is a shame that people just can’t operate this sort of thing in a way that actually shows really good sportsmanship.
It is great for the winning team to treat it respectfully and not as a ‘we are going to try and made you do it as a get it up you’ and also for the other team to be sporting and show respect to champions. But we seem to have gone a long way past mutual respect in football these days.

I agree, if it isn’t genuine, it shouldn’t happen, and it shouldn’t be forced to happen. Why be false, though? If you don't have mutual respect then just admit it.
You surprise me.I think Ferguson used it as a way of hitting home to his own players that they had lost the title and it was meant to spur them on for the next season through a bit of light humiliation.
I’m sure it was described as being a much more positive and respectful gesture towards Chelsea but the core reason behind it was more internally focussed.
