There are a lot of posters on here who said he would have been perfect on the other side of Kent.

A "fall back option" ahead of who? Someone like Wright has levels to hit and is generally more exciting. We want upcoming talents like that who can contribute in the now and still improve, not a 32-year-old unspectacular journeyman.

Wright didn’t joint till the January transfer window.
Yes, he is, undoubtedly, an improvement on Candeias but wasn’t an option in the first half of the season.

The answer is definitely “no”.
I’m pretty sure though, that moving the goalposts is what caused the confusion.

As for where we are as a squad... if we were going tight in a European away game and needed to double up on the right, yeah maybe he could do a job. But that's half a dozen games a season.
