Celtic and Aberdeen should be docked points and made to forfeit postponed games, says Adrian Durham

correction:

Aberdeen should be made to forfeit games and Celtic should be made to do the same and be docked points for knowingly using a player who should have been quarantining from a trip that they knew about and potentially bringing the infection that ruined last season into the game again. Of course it's your word against theirs but when have Celtic never lied?

When we play Celtic, it's called the Old Firm derby.

Maybe from now on the Aberdeen - Celtic matches should be called the 'diseased derby'.

Just a thought :D

A lot has been said about whether Bolingoli was ineligible to play Keevins last night trotting out the party line he was properly registered to play whilst that is true he was in breach of the Health & Safety at Work Act it is akin to the Legia Warsaw debacle where a player brought on as a sub was registered for European competition but had a suspension from previous season but due to Legia bringing in a new secretary that was overlooked and although the sub had no material impact on the game and aggregate score the result was overturned and the scum re-instated. My point is the sub should have been aware of his suspension or when added to the team sheet raised concerns so his silence cost his club a CL place. Similar to Bolingoli he must know the rules in Scotland/UK regards COVID19 the clubs will surely have been briefed and players instructed so he knowingly went to a banned country the duration is immaterial he failed to carry out proper procedures on return placing his team mates and fellow professionals in danger to potential symptoms and also innocent family members to me that is neglect and with UEFA having rules in place Legia as a club suffered now common sense from a football authority should prevail and look at the evidence and the clubs should be punished for neglect and bringing the game in to disrepute that is like a BOTP charge covers a multitude of sins even if their are NO actual rules in place Kick Them out the competition!

I agree with this. For me they are essentially unable to fulfil fixtures due to a "rule" breach by their player. I say "rule" because there doesn't actually seem to be anything in the rules of the game to legislate for it.

However, to minimise disruption/inconvenience to opponents, their opponents for the fixtures they can't play should IMHO be awarded points for forfeiture.

I'm sure as much as some opposition fans would like to have watched the games on a streaming service at some point, they'd happily bite your hands off for the three points as compensation.

It'd also hammer home the impact to players of being dicks about this and not following the guidelines.

Hes absolutely bang on the money. There's absolutely no doubt that if this was Rangers then we would be told to forfeit games and fined. The really interesting issue now is going to be whether they are allowed to play a European game when our government have effectively quarantined them. If this somehow miraculously gets played on the original date then serious questions have to be asked. Our government just wouldn't be taken seriously at all if they got to play this. They need to come down hard and set an example or all clubs and especially players or they will just expect a wee slap on the wrist if it happens again.

This all day... You can bet your bottom dollar the "next" team to do this will be docked points...

if I do something daft in work and break health and safety guidelines it’s the company that get fined although the individual can be charged if it’s serious enough.

Have the HSE been notified, employers and employees face severe legal ramifications for not taking every foreseeable action to protect said individuals, Imagine for a moment Bolingoli or whatever his name is was positive for covid and infected a team mate or opponent who died from this horrible disease, the md or whoever is in charge of health and safety at that organisation could potentially be facing manslaughter charges.

The opponents of Aberdeen and Celtic in the matches concerned should be awarded a 3-0 victory.

If the authorities had the balls to do that, then you can bet people would take it a lot more seriously. They are to late now, should have been implemented pre season.

The multiple tweets and blogs the filth support put out recently, after the problems with our test results at the Motherwell game, this has come back to bite them in the arse big time.

Self awareness never really was a strong trait these fuckers possessed anyway.

Well if they can hand out trophies for incomplete seasons what’s a few docked points. I don’t buy this ‘wee canny punish the manky club fur the players actions’ yes you can and it should be done. In any business practice if rules are breached by an individual working in a company both the individual and the company can be open to the punishments. No different in this instance.

Celtic's issue is alot more serious than Aberdeen's. The wee fanny could have infected Kilmarnock players as well as their own.

Definitely. Aberdeen players defied agreed protocol and guidelines whereas the scum player blatantly broke the law hence why he got a FPN to discharge liability of the offence.

As we have been hearing how tight the fixture schedule is then surely replaying these games at a later date is going to cause problems. Award 3-0 wins to Celtic and Aberdeen’s opponents and no points each for their game at the weekend. Celtic should also be kicked out of Europe.

The scum support know they’ve gotten away with one big time here. They’ve been served a minor inconvenience of re-arranged fixtures rather than being properly punished.

I take it the fact that the SPFL just spent 2 months bribing, vote rigging and making up rules to hand his team a title is totally lost on the thick mentally challenged bastard that has responded to that.

They have to punish them imo why should both Aberdeen and the Tim’s opposition be punished with fixture congestion and lack of game time for these problems

They (celtc and sheep) should both be punished, postponement is not punishment. Celtic say they accept their punishment - What punishment? And if postponing games is deemed as punishment what have St Mirren done to be deserving said punishment?

I read that Nicola said that this is a 'yellow card' for Scottish football.

So by effectively taking no action against the player or club, the SPFL is once again going to setup a situation where the punishment for breaking rules is not consistent across all cases and clubs.

The next club, probably other than the scum, that has a player violate rules will now be responsible for any 'red card' given by the government. We all know who will get all the blame should it happen to be our player!

If we hand out punishments for this it will encourage clubs to cover up and not admit issues. The purpose of these restrictions is to protect the players from Covid. Our players as well. Need to remember that.

they have to play catch up, will cause them problems punishment isn't the answer here.

Scottish football is a laughing stock in the eyes of world sport. It stutters from one disaster to another and this latest farce should have been dealt with by the implementation of rules drawn up before this season kicked off.

Due to the pressure from Sturgeon to get their act together I predict rules to forfeit games and other sanctions will be rushed in, but not retrospectively so the mentally challengeds will escape punishment.

“Celtic Dagger” must be Kerryfail Street.
Surely they haven’t already forgotten their award from last season that there was a rule made up to facilitate?

Linfield have progressed through to the next round of the champions league due to their opponents having coronavirus positive tests, how different is that from games being postponed due to a player ignoring government rules regarding quarantine rules. Points should be removed for unfulfilled fixtures.

Their player was fined £480 - and Celtic are going to deal with it ‘internally’ (don’t they always) - so don’t worry justice has been served
