Celtic celebration clean up & repair costs

Glasgow City Council is corrupt to the core and has been for very long time. That SNP fat ugly bitch Susan Aitken sums up the state of our local councillors/politicians sadly. She and her lying corrupt pal Nicola should have been chased out years ago.

And how much does it cost to clean up the Gallowgate and Merchant City area after every game?
Had the misfortune on Saturday to have to walk through both areas around 7.30pm on the way to a gig, popped into the Fruit Market to withdraw cash and the O'Neils bar was rammed full of them singing their IRA songs and the Walter Smith song, all the other bars and restaurants in the building were all but deserted. Out on the street there was hundreds of them drinking and singing the same songs as the police stood watching, and thatvwas the theme all the way to the venue.
The Merchant City has spent years and £millions turning itself into a lovely part of the town and its now been destroyed. Its the second time I've had to walk through the area to the venue after a Celtic game and it was the same then so Saturday wasn't just a one off. If the council don't put a stop to it dozens of businesses will either close on match days or just close.

In a normal city or country this vile animalistic behaviour would be reported with outrage by media, politicians police etc. Instead all these organisations have been involved in another cover up so as to protect celtics so called good reputation. We know all about their real sickening vile reputation. It's actually frightening and very very sinister why this is the case. Cover up after cover up. What hold do they have over the powers that be. Does this involve their boys club. Are people in power or their relations been part of this evil circle. We are treated like pariahs if we sing a little song or wave a flag .
We are governed and policed by corruption.

£91K. That was the figure GCC slipped out to the media. And it didn’t require an FOI either.

Be interesting to get a breakdown of how they arrived at that figure.
Am I misremembering or when @Robert Marshall set up that go fund me did GCC not send him a bill that was absolutely ridiculous and when he called them out on it and wanted an exact cost breakdown with receipts it ended up being much lower than what they initially wanted?

Unsurprisingly, SNP run Glasgow City Council have not yet disclosed the full repair costs, despite requests. Contrast and compare to the rapid and regular media briefings on us in 2021, when repair estimates of £59K were disclosed just 10 days after, then ramped up to £91K a few weeks later.

*Update 6th Sep

The SNP-run Glasgow City Council have finally come clean on the repairs, which are apparently still ongoing.

Outstanding work D.

Again.

Compare and contrast the reporting and costing.

The reporting of these ‘celebrations’ were certainly low key compared to the scream at you headlines when we gathered at George Square. From what I recall, the Sun chose page 15 to report the Mercat damage, while the Daily Mail hid their coverage on page 17. That mob are a protected species.

They're a law unto themselves. Literally.

The politics of this slaps you square in the face.

Rangers - vile, thuggish, irresponsible, terrifying, assaults, damage and plastered all over the scottish press as such and GCC and SNP and Greens line up to stick the boot in. Huge bills for reparations paid for by the Glasgow taxpayers, GCC screaming foul, demanding payment and presenting bills...........when we know there were isolated incidents, it was messy and damage was done, shear weight of numbers. All was pretty much sorted in days, funded by fans of the club.

celtic - good spirits, celebrations, minor disturbances, minor damage. Press reluctant to criticise, low key on any damages. GCC not a peep and SNP and Greens eerily silent.........when we know, because we've all seen, the damage to bus stops, cars, traffic lights, pedestrian road barriers, a historic monument and litter, bottles and junk all over streets. GCC of course, barely a word of criticism and actually HIDING the costs and criticism, so much so, it takes a FOI request to drag it out of them.

If you can't see the way GCC, the press and the ScotGov lean, then you're in wilful denial or simply plain stupid.

Just because they smashed the place up while wearing septic football tops and singing ira songs doesn't mean they were septic fans
Yours Sincerely

TBF a Labour MSP did say that he 'Was disapointed with the behaviour' not DISGUSTED!!, tells you all you need to know really.

I dont believe those costs and think repairing the Mercat building for example, would cost much more than that as its a historic building so would require specialists to repair it. I think the total costs would be so much higher for the whole lot. The cost of cleaning up for example seems to much lower for a wider area than it was for George square! The scum wrecked Trongate and caused havoc in Merchant City.

They know the support of that club and most of their board , are out of control and all shit scared to condemn or criticise or even act on it . The press , the authorities ( football and police Scotland ) MP's , MSP's , our major T.V. Channels they all hide and say nothing , hoping (which it usually does ) it just goes away ...in turn they attack us for the least little thing more times than not , false or exaggerated stories to deflect from the bigoted dregs of our society who are not even challenged...

Not giving a fck is why these SNP nonces are getting away with their double standards.

Every Rangers fan should give a fck.

This is why Rangers fans are now without a voice, constantly accountable and defenceless against the law, the government, the league bodies.

Staunch as f*ck though  I question if they are Rangers fans, if they don't give a %^*&.

Even their own board are scared of them. They don’t want IRA displays and all the crap that goes with it, and have half heartedly tried to disband the Green Brigade before. The likes of Dermot Desmond and Brian Wilson are far too canny to want Celtic to indulge in that stuff, but they don’t have the balls to do something about. Even guys like Davie Hay and Lennon came out and told them to ditch the IRA stuff. Didn’t work.

Now they bend over so much that they are allowed to create violent imagery, on their grounds no less, based on an incident from over 50 years ago. It is one thing making a political statement, as that lot are prone to do, but I don’t think an image of a child with a petrol bomb has any place at a Scottish football ground in the 21st Century.

The problem is, most of those in prominent positions within Glasgow City Council, and the SNP, probably condone it, hence why they try to cover up their fans misdemeanours at all costs.

Isnt the man in charge of business development in the area a rabid? I read this on here.

Your last paragraph is pretty accurate.
