Their own board and past management are arguably the problem ,.Peter Lawell allowed them their own standing section in effect creating the green brigade , later having meetings with them to give the impression he was not in favour of their behaviour letting us all think Celtc f.c. were against it when Lennon donated one of their tainted trophies to them and Jeanette Findlay publicly backs them and their songsheet. The green brigade see themselves as the voice and platform of Irish terrorism and claim it on their sectarian banners. It has come back to bite them big time , the only problem being there's none brave enough to ban them and none brave enough in the press/ media to condemn it.Even their own board are scared of them. They don’t want IRA displays and all the crap that goes with it, and have half heartedly tried to disband the Green Brigade before. The likes of Dermot Desmond and Brian Wilson are far too canny to want Celtic to indulge in that stuff, but they don’t have the balls to do something about. Even guys like Davie Hay and Lennon came out and told them to ditch the IRA stuff. Didn’t work.
Now they bend over so much that they are allowed to create violent imagery, on their grounds no less, based on an incident from over 50 years ago. It is one thing making a political statement, as that lot are prone to do, but I don’t think an image of a child with a petrol bomb has any place at a Scottish football ground in the 21st Century.
The problem is, most of those in prominent positions within Glasgow City Council, and the SNP, probably condone it, hence why they try to cover up their fans misdemeanours at all costs.
