Clancy v Aberdeen - the major incidents and the timings of them

You know I never really picked up on this but other night scum v hibs there was a little incident with stand side linesman the ball went out for a throw in to hibs and player was going to pick up the ball and linesman back heeled the ball away from him which cannot say I have ever seen this before
Only in Scotland pal

The same incident hagi got booked for an Aberdeen player did 3 times after that and nothing was said. Stopping a free kick from being taken. Just another one to add to the many strange decisions Clancy made during the game.

Here’s one with timing….
4 mins injury time awarded
4m 10 seconds the Aberdeen keeper has the ball at his feet. Perfect opportunity to blow.
But play went in to allow Aberdeen an attack, culminating in a shot from inside our box on 4m 40 seconds.
Full time once we got the ball
Where we still at 9 men then ?

Mark you could be at it a while writing down every minute.

Tone was set early. Hagi uses his body position wonderfully to shield the ball roll his marker. He is fouled. Freekick to Aberdeen.

This was identical to the 2019 piggery game where Morelos rolled his man then got fouled through on goal. Freekick to Celtic.

I cannot recall if Hagi was booked at this incident as there were so many stoppages in first 10 minutes and this is from memory of being at the game. It felt like Rangers had a foul per minute.

Alfredo was also caught by a hanging leg by Lewis Ferguson, studs just below knee decked it rolling about, Clancy ran past him pretty much snarled down at him “getupyacnt”.

Not seen any of these back on tv.

The first 10 minutes confirmed how it as going to go. Just watch the first 10.

Excellent in compiling all those incidents, mate. Its utterly unreal what they got away with the other night.

Anyone got a list?
Will the club ever call out what we all saw? Off course we played poorly and the manager has to answer for some poor decisions but the crucial game changers were all driven by Clancy and we are so mealy mouthed it’s embarrassing. This has been going on for years and years but the other night was so blatant it cannot be ignored. However it will dignified silence and all that nonsense. Stand up and fight surely now is the time.

Well done it fully exposes Clancy if only the Club would voice their disdain about how we where officiated by him .

Watched the second half again and it really isn't as bad as is being painted however our ball retention was still poor and the main culprits for losing the ball carried on in the second half.
Bassey was worse again giving the ball away 8 times Wright would have beaten him with 5 before being hooked as would Morelos who gave the ball away/lost it 6 times.

Regarding timings for Suck:

46" Wright gets fouled Clancy plays on and seconds later blows for a foul by Kamara (setting a precedent)
47" Wright manhandled into the box. He was still being pushed when the ball was played so a foul and a booking but nothing. The cross was met by Rameries and then Brown blootered over but it should never have got that far.
50" Free kick against Moreles the ball coming off his boot and brushing his hand.
54" Tav's shot blocked by Bates - Wrights lay off was slow allowing the block!
56" Brown runs across Morelos stopping him closing down Bates - ignored.
57" McCrorie eventually booked
59" Wright pushed from behind slides into Brown who collapses - foul against Wright
64" - Kent after a great run kicks the ground - Funashi would have got a pen!
70" - Tav gives away the corner when he should have had a call as either McGregor or Goldson could have cleared easier.
71" - Push on Borna - ignored
71" - Penalty against Morelos despite his arm not being in an unnatural position and he's pulling his hand away. No complaints from the players - I guess they don't know the rules either!
72" - ball moved off the penalty spot - retake only if it was missed.
74" Hayes barges Kent foul only
75" Hayes brings down Kent and has a fly kick but misses. Gets up and gets into Kent's face. Kent gets fed up with his mhanky breath and gives him a shove. Clancy who somehow found himself behind Hayes immediately flashes yellow at Kent and then books Hayes.
80" McClellan has a kick at Fashion tripping him - no attempt at the ball. Pity was Brown was about to bring him down!
81" - Goldson stretches to a cross and puts it back across the goal. Should have at least hit the target or left it to Basey who was right behind him.
82" Morelos brings out a good save from Lewis. Goldson tripped by McCrorie should have been a penalty and a sending off.
83" Ball is on right side Brown clears as Kent runs across. Brown goes down like a hooker at Aberdeen Docks. There was no contact but Clowncy had the cards out immediately.
84" Lewis is out his goal having words with Kent. Brown laughs and points Kent off the pitch.
89" Hayes taps Bornas nose to feel where it is and follows up with his forearm. Throw in to Aberdeen.
90+1 Clancy sends Borna off to remove the blood that miraculously appeared on the area where Hayes didn't contact him. Down to 8 outfield players
90 + 4 ball in Aberdeen's area - "Clancy play on until you have another shot"
90+ 4 + 38 seconds a decent cross well defend time up.
Walking off Brown and Clancy are seen having a laugh.

So basically anyone saying that the referee didn't influence the game is talking absolute and utter shite as are those that said we were a shambles! You don't stop a team having a shot on target in the second half if you are shit!

Hopefully a dossier of sorts being compiled and shared with the powers that be.

He's getting more and more brazen with how he referees our games so must be sanctioned in some way.
The game to do that was when we beat them 2-1 at parkhead. Last night was bad enough - but that game was probably twice as bad as last night. The ultimate example of that cheats very one-sided eyesight.

There was also a blatant pull and wrestle on Morelos from Bates in the second half at a corner. I’ve got it I took a small video at 21:26 (actual time as in second half round about 65-70 mins in. Right in front of Clancy. I mean if he’s consistent for the one he gave against Katic at Parkhead, then this one’s a stonewaller.

This one.
Clancy saw Katic at porkheid but missed the other FIVE shirt pulls.
He had the eagle eyes to see Morelos handle but not the push before.
And the holding of Morelos's shirt here, just another mistake.

Ed - Do you have the 82 minutes corner, where Alfredo has that lovely shot saved ? I’m sure that was the one where McCrorie does everything to Goldson bar wear his boxers.

A different referee on the night and it would have been Rangers conceding 7 free kicks and Aberdeen conceding 21.

Tellingly Clancy stayed away from the incident with McGregor as it was far too debatable an incident to give a penalty, the contact was negligible and the position was probably not inside the box.
Clancy just concentrated in giving every decision to Aberdeen in the rest of the park away from the areas that get the focus of the professional onlookers.

This is the real craft of influencing a game as a referee without drawing attention to yourself.
Just drip drip the decisions in the middle areas of the pitch to the team you favour, then slowly but surely it will tip the balance of the game.

This video explains these tactics perfectly.

That’s the one! Looking right at it. A blatant cheat. Compare that to the one he gave against Katic that they never even appealed for.

You look at the stats from that game and it would show that RANGERS were the aggressors.

I've never seen such a tame display from a Rangers team. We ran about tippy tippy all night.

On the sheep side you have Brown running about man handling anything he can touch. Hayes getting in to it on a few occasions, McCrorie with two yellow tackles and only one given. You have Bates take out Morelos in the lead up to the goal and no foul or advantage given.

It seemed to me that Morelos and Kent just seemed resigned to their fate with Clancy refereeing.

In the first half Alf was caught on the toe, right in front of Clancy. No foul. You see him afterwards tell Goldson "That wasn't a foul". Late in the 2nd half, on his blind side, he is 100% certain that Kent catches Lego and sends him off without a blink.

The young lad Jamie Murray, videographer and editor with the club, tweeted a short clip today about his “day in the life” of a Rangers FC videographer. The equipment he has access to is state of the art. Surely this sort of thing could be put together by the club and emailed to the respective bodies in a video clip highlighting Clancy’s disgraceful performance. It’s laudable that MD wants to do it but disgraceful if action hasn’t already been taken by our club.

It could be done in a most subtle manner.
That it doesn't get done is a disgrace.
There is no need to be brazen in getting the message out, just be clever.

Well done to those who have put this together.
Sadly nothing will come from it, we need something
done from the top of our club and I very much doubt
they have the guts for it.

Well, minute 1 Kent was fouled on the touch line several times and Clancy played on, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
I was shouting at the TV at that. In the first five minutes there were about four fouls on Kent and I don't think we got one.

I went back and watched the incidents from the infamous Porkheid game.

It's like a carbon copy of the sheep game. Timmy fouls and benefit of the doubt given. Mickey Johnston wasn't even booked in this game.

Little yellow cards here and there for Rangers players. Brown gets Morelos booked. Jumps in the air about three feet when tapped. This enabled Clancy to red card him about ten minutes later.

Penalty to Celtic, none for Rangers despite shirts held at every corner.

Celtic goal is a handball deflection. They got a goal. On Tuesday Alf got a yellow card.

Clancy has this cute little pattern in Rangers games. He's not daft enough to do it in every single game but when the pressure is on he reverts to this type of refereeing.

Remember, Clancy gave a penalty against Big Katic, laughable when you see some of the stuff last night.
I genuinely can't remember a penalty given for holding in any other game over the past five years.
I think this was Clancy's little gift on their way to TI*R. Shame he handed it over way too soon.

1.07 in the video (69 minutes in the game) Legoeater handles the ball, penalty to Rangers and potentially a yellow card which means red for deliberate handball

not saying we are going to score it but if we do, that's 2-0 and probably game over
I thought it was - but on seeing it now, I don't think so.

That said - foul to Aberdeen? You are having a laugh Kevin.

On Gio van Souness's video, I counted 4 fouls by Brown. None of which were given. No wonder Aberdeen had 7 fouls.

That was just Broon!

It's easy enough to say "we should have won no matter the referee". But, they were allowed to boot lumps out of us - much of it off the ball. Yet, as soon as we blow on them the wrong way, the cards are out.

Clancy probably found the balls to try it again now stevie is away..after the shit he got the last time with them he clearly wouldn't do it again. But now new man at helm. . .

Hagi getting booked early doors for blocking a fk being taken. Players do this all the time in every single game and are never punished. Especially so early in a game, when apparently refs don’t like to give out cards as it sets the tone.
The fact the bookings were all key players is this a precedent where officials going to target these players to increase the count with the prospect of suspensions at crucial part of the season, again all to aid one team

65th minute, Goldson gets free kick awarded against him, soft by the games standards. Goldson picks the ball up in disbelief and Clancy quickly takes it out his hand and passes it straight to Aberdeen player. Never seen a ref do that before, the player might hand the ball to the ref normally, but Clancy with two hands took the ball off Goldson to get it to Aberdeen ASAP. Not a major game changing incident but a red flag in the way he conducts himself against Rangers.
Did the linesman also stand in front of one our players,to stop him getting the ball,as it was a sheep throw in.
