Clement

Clement is not immune from criticism, many folk had concerns about his starting 11, but the issue is this group of players.

They are serving up the same failures year after year. We have a manager now with a history of winning, not an experiment like Beale.

We need to allow Clement to build a squad that understands what winning means and that aren't afraid of the pressure that comes with that expectation. This squad do not have it. No manager in the world is going to change that.

And Beale did get sacked. And we are starting again, so what do you want to happen?
My point is, they were sacked because they weren't up to the job.

Punters are always saying we can't keep sacking managers, regardless of how woefully inept a manager can be by that logic we can't keep sacking them?

Questions have to be asked of him now. The set up in all 3 games v them have been wrong and sticking with Lundstram when we have Raskin on the bench
Raskin hasn’t played anywhere near good enough at any point this season to justify his selection over Lundstrum.

It was only about a month - 6 weeks ago that the vast majority on here had Lundstrum as one of our star performers and we needed to sign him up before he left on a free.

Like most things, the truth lies somewhere in the middle but unfortunately that seems like a rarity when it comes to fan opinions.

That squad, no matter who he picked and played where, wa few would have let us down as per.
Thats where we are.

Get a grip, not his team, hunners of injuries, twice played about 45mins away from home against that lot and been unlucky in the end.

Would we like to have seen what Beale or Gio would have been like against them with 10 men.

Yilmaz - been injured for about half the season, not fit to start today
Goldson - injured and out for season
Balogun - injured and missed about half the season
Davies - injured for half the season (only 1 appearance since about xmas before today)
Matondo - been injured half the season
Sima - been injured half the season
Danillo - been injured half the season
Roofe - injured all the time.

Thats what Clement has had to deal with since he came in, he has somehow got us back into a title race, chance of a double. But people are saying he isnt the right man. Get a grip and giv him next season. Obv annoying what has happened since we got infront in the league but with players he has had at his disposal he has done a great job.

So many decisions that are a joke that could have changed the outcome of this season.

2 decisions v hibs for them that won them the game.
We have been in the wrong side of about 4 VAR call v Celtic
Cant remember the last time we actually received a pen award in the pitch, for about 2 months mow we have had about 5 pens all after play got stopped and VAR looked at, we get nothing from the officials.

A very forgetful season but I’ll give Clement the benefit of the doubt. Where Beale had us compared to now is night and day with the exact same players. It still wasn’t enough, so the board need to back him to the fuckin moon in the summer, gut the dead weight out the squad and give him next season to see what he’s really made of with his own players.

He took us to the point where a win at Ross County away and a win in the game in hand against Dundee would have seen us go top of the league, from a position where many on here had given up.

It's the players. When it's been there for the taking, they don't go and take it. We need ruthless players, players for whom winning is everything. We have players capable of putting in a performance but they are not ruthless win at all cost types. And we need those.

We do not need a new manager at this time, we need a plan for next season and to back the man we have.

Use of the squad, in particular Raskin has been baffling.

Deserves a go next season though.

When the team came out, we pretty much all knew the midfield was too light. We could foresee them dominating.

He's a stubborn manager and Goldson aside ( when too late) he sticks pretty much to his guns.

Sterling would have helped in midfield. He could have played at right back.
He shouldn't be be getting played at right wing.

Just no style of play whatsoever.
I'll give him this window but i'm concerned with the shite we are watching.

Raskin hasn’t done enough to show that he is good enough to be a first choice midfielder in the years ahead; in the last two months Lundstram has done nothing to justify being a first choice midfielder today.

every Bear was screaming for Sterling to play in the midfield today
clement learned nothing from the last game and thats a huge worry going forward
as usual mcgregor has the freedom of the pitch

Don’t necessarily disagree with that but the poster was advocating Raskin ahead of Lundstrum.
That’s a non starter

So what was your thoughts on him when he managed to get this team of failures back in to a Title race ?

I'm not blindly saying he's the next Pep or anything but we have to give him another transfer window at least to sort out Beale's mess, if we keep sacking Managers all the time no decent Manager will ever think about joining us
Keep hearing this but is it actually true?

In retrospect does anyone in the football world think that Gio or Beale should have got longer than what they did?

They got themselves sacked.

You don't get a blank slate if you lose the league from a winning position and don't win your first 4 OF games.

Clement done brilliantly for five months and seems to have lost the plot in the last 5 weeks. The player are a huge reason for where we find ourselves but you can't keep ignoring the decisions the managers makes.

We can mump and moan about how unfair it is but this is Glasgow. Normality goes out the window.

I don't want him sacked. I don't want him replaced but I'm not daft enough to think he's going to get to start next season with a blank slate especially if he doesn't win the cup final. No cup final win and he'll be under pressure from day one next season. It should never have came to that.
You're missing something here bro.

This main protagonists have previous in that position for shitting the nest.

If it looks like a duck....I'll reiterate, if Clement hangs his hat on the usual suspects he'll pay the price. The January window sold him short IMO and that has told recently.

No but we have to give a Manager a couple of windows at least, he's only bought in 3 of his own players so far and one of them was on loan

Lundstram should’ve been binned weeks ago

Total fraud and a coward
I am not saying he is or he isn’t, but to say Raskin should have played ahead of him is nonsense.
We should maybe have played Sterling in there alongside Diomande with MCausland on the right.

Getting back into the race is meaningless if you inevitably chuck it. Losing it in March and losing it on the last day is essentially the same thing. Same outcome and the record books stay the same thing

What sort of control does Clement have of this team when second half a guy he hasnt dared pick since November pushes Tav and Diomande out the way of their target situations and lumbers about seeking the “ran about a lot” plaudits.

Nicolas Raskin was genuinely gesturing at the bench petulantly in a huff that Jack Butland was up for the 93rd minute corner and he had to leave the box as if he’s a bit special to the team ?

It was there in front of you live on Sky.

An utter collapse
An utter shambles

Rankin done more in the short time than lundstrum. Constantly playing tav who was absolutely shocking for the 2nd goal .
That 2nd half was embarrassing.
Hardly embarrassing under the circumstances. I feared the worst for the 2nd half and hung in there. The damage was done in the first half.

Nobody in his shoes puts a team out with no Tav and Lundstram today not a chance.

True, but getting us back in it must show that he has a little bit of Managerial skill, lets face fact these players don't really do winning

if we lose the cup final that puts enormous pressure on our manager already for next season
sick to the back teeth of seeing rhat horrible cretin rogers lording it over us

Baffling team selections, mostly caused by continually losing his best players to injury every other week. Let's not fucking pretend we're spoiled for choice. The squad is an unbalanced mess that he inherited.
We aren't. But if the best player for a position is available, you play them. Everyone can see for weeks Sterling can't play RW. So he shouldn't be there. Barisic shouldn't be playing. You can make a serious argument for Lawrence, Silva (who wasn't the worst) or Diomande not being picked. Lundstram has clearly checked out long ago but we are still expecting these guys to go to the wall despite having no evidence that they can

Can't help but think, come the autumn, we will be in the same situation as we've been in the last two.

Can't believe people are allowing the injury situation mask the absolute shambles from the manager today. He could have fired Butland upfront and people would be defending him.
