Free to roam the streets without a mask on... an even bigger crime some might sayAnd yet, Paul McGowan keeps assaulting police officers and is free to roam the streets.
Don't care about his of field behaviour. He was jailed for being a Rangers player. No other reason
I’m sure he was sent off.I was at the game and if I remember correctly, he wasn't even booked. S.F.A. tried and convicted him before it went to court. Discraceful
He was an Everton player, when he was jailed...
Wasn’t even booked.I’m sure he was sent off.
We had the best QC in he country on the board. The club at the time could - and should - have done a lot more for him.
Wasnt even bookedI’m sure he was sent off.
I’m sure he was sent off.
No he was not and the leading man in the PF office was called O'Donnell.iirc.I’m sure he was sent off.
He wasn't.I’m sure he was sent off.
A vindictive prosecution by the PF's office - 25 years ago which shows nothing changes in Scotland.
The SFA banned him for 12 games only for Lord Justice McFadyen to state that they had 'acted outside their powers' - another thing that never changes in Scotland.
It must also be said that the response of David Murray and the Rangers board was pathetic and a capitulation.
Apart from not being a Rangers player at the time and the conviction that saw him on probation when he butted McStay came when he was a Dundee Utd player.Don't care about his of field behaviour. He was jailed for being a Rangers player. No other reason
No, there have been a few players in court over the years for incidents on the pitchAm I right in saying that only Rangers players have been arrested for on-field incidents?
Woods,Butcher,Roberts and McAvennie were all charged with breach of the peace after the old firm debacle.Am I right in saying that only Rangers players have been arrested for on-field incidents?

He was a Rangers player when the PF's office acted against him for an offence on the pitch. Players do not get arrested for offences on the pitch. This one did. Oh, and Chris Woods and Terry Butcher. How odd.
Ferguson was going to jail at some point unless he wisened up. His antics in Stirling many weekends were of an arsehole.
Ridiculous that the authorities got involved with this incident but it probably made him grow up a lot sooner than seemed likely.
Ferguson was done for a breach of his probation. The guy had a reputation for acting like a thug, done it one time too many and got what was coming his way. Had he not been a footballer, his second assault conviction would've likely seen him jailed never mind waiting until his third.
I'm not sure there are many other examples of footballers on probation for assault then committing an assault in front of 44000 people.
He shouldn't have been sent off. He never headbutted him.Happened right in front of me in the West Enclosure, a young Kenny Clark should have sent him off and that would have been the end of it.
The club at the time could - and should - have done a lot more for him.

I've posted this before, why was there not more made of McStays' part in all of that?
Why did DF react? Look closely at the video and you'll see McStay elbow DF in the stomach, that's why he reacts.
I'm sure Big Dunc was banned by the SFA before he'd even been found guilty in Court. The media would have drooled over Ferguson if he'd been a Piggery Peasant, guaranteed.
My seat at the time was in the Main Stand Front and I agree with you assertion, McStay was later treated for a cut lip, how, if big Dinc headbutted him, did he mange to miss his forehead and nose on the way to McStay's lip is beyond comprehension. McStay made the most of it to get a fellow professional sent off.He shouldn't have been sent off. He never headbutted him.
Story going about at the time was that McStay did not wish to press charges but he was doorstepped by members of the police force and "invited" to make a complaint. AllegedlyI've posted this before, why was there not more made of McStays' part in all of that?
